Well,
one thing is for certain....at least one of them won't "do such a thing" anymore.

Yes, I agree completely as well. No one is saying otherwise.

In fact, it really doesn't matter how old she is..........however, I have not seen any reason to assume her age based on any news related articles I've read about this incident unless some new information has been released. My observation from the beginning was......how do we know this was an Old Lady???
There is no mimum age for membership in the Texas CHL forum, is there? At 35-45 years of age, she could have easily been twice the age of the OP.

One of the stories said she came home from running an errand which isn't out of character for some elderly people who go to bed at 9 or 10pm. On the other hand, if she was out having fun at 4am without her boyfriend, it could change the story why the two men followed her home.
I didn't see the story about "running an errand," but the 0400 thing doesn't really sound that odd. Many people work the night shift, and the errand could've been picking up something to eat after work.

I think in one of the video interviews the officer mentioned she had just came in from working at Taco Bell. That doesn't help on the age question, but doubt she was very old is she was working the night shift at a fast food restaurant (very old to me these days is 80+

)

If you read the comments following the article, several posters commending the shooter refer to her as "Tex" for courage and her well placed shots. Nice to know we Texans have such a good reputation!!

"Old" is a matter of relativity; i.e., the amount of time one has behind oneself relative to the amount time one assumes is ahead of oneself.
There is an old German saying, "...too soon we grow old, too late we grow smart"...or something like that.
Here endeth the lesson on longevity and earned experiences and knowledge.

This does not surprise me in the least. Today, parents (or I should say parent, singular) of young people of all ethnicity (including Caucasian) are, for varying reasons, failing to convey the importance of a good moral base with good honest hard work to their children. It's said that the easiest/fastest distance between two points is a straight line. With a deflated economy, an overtaxed legal/Penal system that's liberal with punishment, it's no wonder why young people fall to the allure of crime! Bottom line is human nature, they don't have to work to hard while committing crimes, it's easy, can pay well, with very little risk of severe punishment if caught. Emphasis on being caught!
Around here drug use is the reason for most B&E's and petty crime. If ever they are caught, the system goes easy on them because it feels they are victims.................................
The two young men in this case could have taken the money and run! This was bad enough. No matter how the young men came to be at this woman's apartment, invited or not (which I seriously doubt), they changed the game when they demanded she remove her clothes! I think she had a pretty good idea of what was to follow! The two young men may have overpowered the boyfriend and continued with the rape............I'm glad she chose NOT to allow this to happen.
It does not matter how these two arrived at a life of crime, whether they were failed by their families or the system. I would be hard pressed to believe that either of these two thought that what they were doing was OK, acceptable, and of course legal. Crime can not be tolerated in a polite civilized society. When the Law is not close enough to defend you from invasive violent crime, you have to defend yourself.

Not sure on the minimum age.

Around the 30 second mark on this one.
