Private university's will be able to choose whether or not to allow them, and I go to a private university, I agree that if private they should be able to choose. I hope mine chooses correctly, and of course I think we should have a debate before votes are cast, I will of course volunteer to debate any of the administration who is on the other side.

you do realize that they, and every other university has that choice now. Any university, public or private can choose to allow CHLs under current law, yet none have. You think it will be different in the future?

I think the stigma attached with it at universities now will be lessened, and the school will be more open for debate about it, a public debate showing the great number (at least my school has, I know of personally 5 people who have theirs, which means there's well more than that that do) will put more pressure on the administration to have a solid opinion backing it up. Plus with a debate it's easier to do that having each individual CHL write the (unnamed) administrator who is in charge of that and get written permission.

Private universities should be just like any other private business. They shouldn't be off limits by default, but they should be able to post 30.06 signs or implement HR policies if they want.
