Carry OWB in Texas?

I just recently purchased my first OWB holster, http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?p ... g-_-343097
it paired with my nice gun belt will easicly cover both my P239 and my P226 with any tshirt that is long enough to cover the belt line, I was actually surpsied at how well it worked.

The only thing I dont like about this style of holster is that you need to loop your belt through it. I have a Serpa Blackhawk holster which is really nice because I can keep it in my car when I am somewhere that I can't carry, and then can easily slide it on when I get back in the car. It seems like these "belt through" holsters need to go on when you get dressed in the morning.

it works out well for me for the simple fact that if I am wearing that holster I am normally not planning on going anywhere I cant carry. that being said I have probably 5 or 6 holsters that I mix around depending on how im dressed, none of my paddle style owb holsters seem to hold the gun as close to my body as the "belt through" holsters though, that could be poor choice of holster on my part though.

I think you are probably right. The Paddle hiolster I use works real well right now since I can throw a jacket over it. It is more dicey under just a T-Shirt or Polo, although I can just barely get away with my G19 even under a think Polo as long as I don't bend over at the waist. I use a good belt, which also helps a lot.

I am looking hard at the holster you linked. One consideration is that I could always leave the holster on without a gun in it if I need to run into a Free Fire Zone (aka a "Gun Free Zone").

Galco makes high ride leather holsters. That helps with concealment. Carry a 1911 in summer with T-shirts no issues. Just dont wear white unless its a heavy duty T shirt and make sure its a little looser fitting. I usually wear 2 shirts. One for gun protection and one for cover.

Im 6' tall and weight about 170. Just about everyday you can find me wearing a pair of starched Cinch jeans, boots, and a button up shirt with a Black Hawk holster at about 4 to 5 o'clock with either a Glock 23 or a H&K USP Compact .40. I start off buying my shirts one size larger than necessary but after a few trips to the cleaners for starch it seems as if they shrink or tighten up a bit, and noone ever knows. You are probably more self aware and think that it is showing but that is merely because you know that it is there when the average untrained eye hasn't a clue.
