If you've never held one you should. I had one in my paws for all of 2 minutes and now it's my mission to get a bobtail commander. I'm probably going to have my Springfield bobtailed. It felt like that is the way it should have been.

Call me crazy but I still like a good ol' checkered steel arched mainspring housing.

I really enjoy shooting and owning different handguns, I just plain shoot better with my Kimber. Right now I carry a 1911 but I still like to shoot all my pistols.

Seriously, although I like everything about 1911's except the cleaning time, I believe it's the trigger that gets most people hooked. Once you have a good 1911 we a good trigger pull, nothing else compares. Seeing how fast you shoot with your Glock, you'll get really spoiled to it in short order.

I have a Smith & Wesson 9m. that I like real well. I can also hit with it pretty good, but I didn't
know how important a trigger pull was untill I
got wy first 1911 Kimber. It feels so good in my hand and my shooting has improved 100%.

"No, I'm not addicted. I can quite anytime I want to. ... I just don't want to." Right CaptDave?

Nope, no peer pressure here. "But GlockenHammer, everybody's got one. You don't want to be the only one still shooting combat tupperware, do you? Here, feel this trigger. Look how tight that group is!"

Y'all crack me up. I'm going to go browse at the local gun show next weekend. I'm not going to buy anything, I'm just going to look...

Ha.

I'm kind of glad that my first pistol (aside from the little snubby that was handed down for years to me) was a 1911. I bought a Kimber Ultra Carry in stainless steel, and I love it. The trigger is so smooth and easy, and for being so small, it really feels better than some commander sized pistols.

The wife has a Sig p229, and since I've gotten used to that sweet single action trigger, I have a hard time with the motion of Glocks, Sigs and a lot of other DA/SA guns. I'm thinking about getting an XD9, but we'll see.

Don't get addicted to that 1911. I don't think that I can ever go back.

I didn't leave my checkbook/plastic at home the first time, and "Gramps" (My Kimber) came home with me. It's all down hill afterwards.

I gotta quit looking at this Topic, for the same reason I don't wander over to the 1911 Forum anymore: I'm Jonesin' for a new, premium 5-incher. Like a Wilson Super Grade, or an Ed Brown Classic Custom, or...

Nope. Nope. I need to save that money for other things.

So maybe just a tad less expensive, like a Les Baer...

Guess I'd better stay away from the gun shows, too.
