What can we do now?

How can we sway the last senators?

here is the email i sent.

To whom is may concern:

Please support SB 354. I understand the opposition has sent many phone calls your way over the weekend (a million calls they brag). They are the vocal minority. If they truly cared they would have been calling your office from day one. They want colleges to have an invisible shield of naivety protecting them. This is not possible in our current world and quite frankly it never has been. I realize allowing CC will stop school violence the same way airbags stop drunk driving. They don't, they merely make the worst case survivable.

Please give teachers and students with CHL (all of whom are over the age of 21 and cleared background checks by FBI) the right to feel and be safe at school

Respectfully Sent,

i will fax and call when i get a chance

They are waiting for a day when John Woods has a class he actually has to attend "rlol"
He sat in the gallery yesterday and they took pictures, so he could be interviewed for the TV news afterward, and he was.
He tweeted that two supporters were there, but they didn't get on TV

You know, I'm (well, the conspiracy theorist in me, anyway is) starting to wonder if John Woods didn't apply to UT just so he could ride his hobby horse into town and "save the day" from us eeeevil CHL holders. :grumble

Wow, must be nice to show up for "work" at 10 am and leave at noon for the day. How much do we pay these deadbeats? :bigmouth

you're still "wondering" about that? the truth of that scenario is as clear to me as the sky is blue.

Probably, and if I didn't have roots here, I'd go enroll in Virginia where it's "against policy" but not "illegal" then come back and explain some stuff to Texas legislators and Woodheads.

Why would a person leave a place of a mass shooting to enroll where the first one took place in order to "get away"? I mean if that was his motive, which he stated before ... Maybe our offer and program was great, but that isn't why he said he came here.

Too bad they didn't interview me.

I witnessed the Whitman massacre at UT in '66 (a friend of mine was wounded there), and am a CHL holder who is strongly in favor of the Campus Carry bill.

If the anti-gun guy who was there that day shows up at future hearings, your testimony would be valuable. My cousin was also there as an API reporter, his honeymoon was interrupted to cover the story.

We pay these "deadbeats" less that $8000 per year. It's not like they make a whole lot anyway.
