Yes and no...These types sometimes get "married" in the yard too. If they become the property of a big enough fish, they are protected in a strange sense. They still get passed around amongst that fish's friends like day old meat but, at least they aren 't food for the general population. Of course, almost everyone gets "tried" to see if he can be "turned out or flipped" at some point.
