Before anything is done, I would contact XS and send them your photos.

That should identify whether the problem is the part or the installation.

Did this yesterday and also mentioned how I brought it up when I at the shop as was told it would be ok.
Its only been one day but I haven't heard anything back just yet.
Will update and this progresses.

i'm no gunsmith but it appears to me that a little grinding on that hammer would fix the issue.

MM218: I was in your shop at the beginning of December and had a set of sights installed on my CZ 40-B.
When I first received the gun back I mentioned that the hammer looked like it was resting on the rear sight and was told it was ok.
With the holidays and work I still haven't been able to test fire it yet but it won't budge a #2 pencil when placed in the bore.
I've attached some pictures of my concern so you can see what I'm talking about and to see what you think.
The back sight appears to only slightly obstruct the path of the hammer but it is enough to render the pistol in-op.

Can’t argue with the picture, that is exactly what is going on. They must have made some change in either the rear sight location or the hammer shape so now it is hitting because that sure isn’t the case on the test gun we got or on any of the pistols we have had in to install sights onto.

The only thing that can be done at this point is to have a small clearance cut made in the sight using needle files to remove the hammer interference.

What would you like to do?

MM218: I can mail you the slide and have the back sight corrected.
Also, I found the receipt and it shows that the back sight used was a Colt Competition Pro Express Rear Sight .315 H Fitted(20-2105P-315-2).
Is that the correct rear sight for the CZ-40B?

Bo: That is the correct sight. The CZ40B I am told was originally supposed to be a Colt offering and they wanted to use a rear sight they already had. The deal never went through so CZ decided to bring it in on their own.

Because this is a first and we don’t know how much will need to be taken off so the hammer will clear, the whole pistol must be in hand.

If you want us to do it see the attached info for shipping firearms, the return S&H would be free.

If you have a local gunsmith this is something that shouldn’t take that much to do, you just need do have the whole pistol in hand to make sure enough clearance has been made. You can’t just go by the displaced area as it may not be enough. You also don’t want to just hack a ton away on the rear sight because that wouldn’t look good either.

At least they admit to their mistake and are taking the blame and are willing to fix it.
I just wish they would "go that extra mile" and at least offer me the money back on the install....not the sight, just the 40.00 install fee.

lol I must have missread, I thought you had contacted the company you ordered the sights from but not the shop that did the work, im useless before noon

The "whoops, they must have changed the hammer or something..." excuse doesn't cut it for me, as the issue is NOT with the hammer, OR the sight. The issue is that they failed to inspect and test their work. Period.

You shouldn't have to pay a dime to have this corrected.

Company mistakes need to be paid for by the company, not the customer.

Bad ju ju.

Always take material off the sight before the frame/hammer/whatever. A weak sight that breaks isn't much of an issue because the gun will still fire, but a broken hammer, not so much.

I don't think that the hammer would break, but don't modify the gun [hammer, frame, or slide]. The poor fitting of the sight is the real issue, not the gun.
