No doubt.
Plus, I put no faith nor reliability on what is reported nor what the government tells us.
The proof is in the grocery bill, on the truck sticker, on the utility bill, on the gas pump.
2.9% inflation??
I have some oceanfront property to sell you.

I believe this is the point at which we agree to disagree.

The CPI is about as credible as any other government-produced 'statistic'

Look, if you believe in the FED and keynesian economics then I don't have time do dig up all proof that you are asking for... cause frankly its right in front of your face...
We will have to agree to dis-agree and leave it at that...

I will say this...
Ron Paul did predict the downfall of our economy ...

You may think it was more about the war, but I suggest you look closer at the Military Industrial Complex and its ties to the money flow from Congress from the FED.

I remember this from economics, but I would argue that those figures are exactly what reflects true inflation. If I can't afford to eat, heat or move, what do I care if a car or television is only inflated by 2.9% My food budget is already two - three times what a normal family's should be because of an allergy diet. It has gone up over 12% in the last year, about 8% the year before that. The ethanol debacle was the first palpable hit I felt in the food budget and it was nothing compared to the increases that have occurred since the national debt has flown off the scale.

I completely agree with you on the importance of energy and food prices. Those are some of our biggest daily expenses. My only point was that this is how we have measured inflation for a long time, so whatever was true of the inflation rate under (say) Reagan, is true today. There is no conspiracy. This is the actual inflation rate as it has been calculated for decades. "Disagreeing" with mathematics is almost always a losing proposition. Also, it must be hard living a life when one doesn't believe anything he or she reads. By that standard, the Earth would still be flat. Those newfangled biased textbooks say it's spherical, so I'm putting my foot down against this brainwashing and I choose to believe the Earth is flat. That position doesn't make any sense. And this doesn't refer to you, Dragonfighter.

And yet you continue to post the latter, sprinkled with veiled (and not so veiled) personal attacks.
At least now I know you're doing it on purpose. Thanks!
