Just keep in mind, it's not the people who elect the president, it's the Electoral College.
It doesn't matter if Texas votes 51% or 100% for Romney, we still get 38 electoral votes.
California can vote 51% for BHO and they get 55 electoral votes.

Which is why it is so bloody important to fight the good fight in the battleground states and to aggressively pursue the opposition in those states on which they believe they have a lock.

Romney has just picked Paul Ryan for his VP running mate. I'm listening to his acceptance speech right now, live, and Romney/Ryan are going to beat Obama/Biden like a rented mule.

Obama will have to run on his record......which is horrible. Biden will have to compare to Ryan......which is almost unfair. Old Uncle Joe hasn't got 2 brain cells to rub together. Ryan is a bright, dynamic, and beautifully spoken man who manages eloquence without sputtering expletives and faking a blue collar that Biden never ever wore, not once in his career.

I like our chances a lot. There will be a whole lot of "nattering nabobs of negativism" who will throw down the race card, but that's to be expected among the dung-for-brained. Ryan just said, "The commitment that Mitt Romney and I make to you is this: We won't duck the tough issues. We will lead."

Ryan sounds absolutely Reaganesque right now. I love it!

I actually had to rewind to listen to it again, as I couldn't believe he'd make that mistake, but also couldn't figure out why he'd say that. I considered momentarily that he was stepping down to run in the VP position, with Ryan as POTUS. Also considered that he meant after him. Finally figured it must've just been a goofy mistake.

I could not be any more pleased with Paul Ryan running in the VP spot. The man has shown himself capable of a deep understanding of the issues of today and unafraid to put forward solutions that he knows will make him a target. He can stand the heat. He is a leader, not a divider.

And the fact that the Democrats view Ryan as an easy target, and knowing with certainty that the Democrats will attack Ryan as the guy who would push granny's wheelchair over the cliff, shows me that Romney is preparing to take on the Left head-on. The Ryan selection gives me greater confidence in Romney. I may not agree with Romney on every issue, but at this moment he sure looks like a guy that's not going to run away from the tough issues. This election will be won or lost on the economy and Paul Ryan is the only guy running that is unimpeachable on that issue. You can throw rocks at Ryan's plan, sure, but you cannot say that his plan is ill-considered or that the man does not have the best interests of The Country at heart. Obama's plan? Buy votes by rolling back immigration enforcement, by rolling back work for welfare, by pointing fingers and blaming. The Economy? Tax more, spend double. Great plan.

Substance and Leadership will win this election. Ryan has both.

Yeah, I saw it too. All my thoughts were while Ryan was walking down to the podium, with music from "Air Force One" playing. A very presidential selection, by the way. Didn't help my confusion.
