All of my IWB holsters are set up so the top of the holster is about 1/8-1/4 inch above the belt line.
Seems like it would ride a bit high to me as well. And I don't see any way (that's obvious to this dunderhead) to get it lower. And many IWB holsters have some adjustability for cant. I don't see that on these either.

Though I must say, it's some good looking workmanship. But he does need to add some more description to the photos he has on his FB pages.

The loops are removeable, so they can be turned around.

I am usually pretty good with 3-D visualization, but I am not seeing how that would be much better.

With the loops 180 degrees from where they are in the photo, the belt will come across the back of the slide and from the look of it, will about cut the grip in half.

Here we go, found another picture with the loops oriented up.

Edit: OK now looking at that, I don't see how it could be worn IWB in that configuration with the snaps. That might work with the clips though. :???:

For what it's worth, I just got off of a chat with Eric Hopp, and he told me that the customer for whom the holster in question here was made had specifically requested a higher ride for his holster. Since all of them are made to order, any customer is free to ask for a specific ride height.

Hi All,

Just catching up on this thread! Wow, poor Eric is going to be busy!! I have a belt and Mag holder on order with him right now, but I thought this would be a good opportunity to re-show my holster for those that haven't seen it before:

My custom requests were horsehide leather, extended sweatshield, convertible IWB/OWB with metal clips. I also chose the leather and thread colour to match my boots (Dr Martens) just like TAM did. The leather is very stiff and is only just starting to break in to fit me better. It's getting more comfortable every day. Oh yeah, i also added the reinforcement panel for the opening and it is really strong. I have no problem re-holstering my pistol when its IWB.

TAM, your holster looks very flashy! I'm happy to see that you have finally received it, I knew it had to be close!!

Y'all ask snatchel what he thinks of the quality of the work. He came by my house today and saw it and was suitably impressed, particularly at that price point.

daniel2002p, I think that what's happened is that Eric Hopp's holsters are starting to get a LOT of buzz, and his orders are starting to back up.

I'm quite alright with the wait knowing I'll have a custom holster :)

When I spoke with Eric a couple of weeks ago he said he was getting slammed. He's not complaining though.

Oh and he said he might be raising his prices soon. So get while the getting's good.

The Annoyed Man wrote:Shortly after I bought my new XD(m)-45 Compact 3.8, I ordered a holster and magazine carrier from Eric Hopp of Hopp Custom Leather: http://www.facebook.com/HoppCustomLeathers

Anyway, here's the front and back views. The holster is horsehide, and there is a leather reinforcement at the mouth with a full quill ostrich decoration for the struttin' factor. He also personalized it by putting my initials on the back of the holster.

And here's a picture with my ostrich boots.....not a perfect match, but not bad either (ignore the poor composition, I was in a hurry to show off):

Total for the holster and magazine carrier was $135 shipped, and I placed it on June 27, so it took about 6 weeks to get it. He told me 5-8 weeks, so he was on the early side of things. Eric Hopp is a really nice guy and we had a couple of great conversations, both online and by phone. I would highly recommend his products. The gun fit perfectly into the holster. Unfortunately, Eric sent me a right handed magazine carrier. He warned me that it was coming and that it was an accident. I'll be returning it to him and he'll replace it right away with a left handed one, but I included it here so that you all could see the quality of his work. I was VERY impressed, and I would definitely buy from him again.

Hat tip to BritOnTour who turned me on to this supplier and who uses his products also. :tiphat:
But the Ostrich is on the inside and your initials are on the outside!

I received mine a couple of weeks ago. It took every bit of the 10 weeks he quoted but the finished product is amazing. He warned me that the fit would be tight and he wasn't kidding but the rentention is very good.

I will post pictures when I can but it's nothing too exciting. You can't go wrong ordering from Eric.
