you ever see laser shells? them thangs're craaaAAAAaaazy!
and, I'm sure Mark "Steel Dragon" Wahlburg got some kind of injunction or sumpin' to handle those "real" guns in the movie.
or they were classified as props, or who knows. I wouldn't worry about it.
and he's anti-gun? proof?
then again, I'm sure he lives in Cali....

This was pulled from THR.org (author SSR) It is really the only thing I can find.
Alleged anti-NRA statements:
He was presenting with George Clooney an award for Best Villian in a movie. Before they began their presentation he blurted out "Let's give it to Charlton Heston, as President of the NRA". Clooney and Wahlberg giggle and Clooney agrees.
I don't have a video, but here is a page I found with pictures and audio link:

I'm sure that included his training at Front Sight Academy in Nevada where he learned about precision shooting. Most of his movies include guns, but until now they may have been props.
As far as being anti-gun, that one statement in 2000 doesn't mean a lot to me. I wonder if there is more evidence.

yeah, I hear ya, maybe he is, maybe he isn't. seems hypocritical to play cops and/or bad guys toting heat when he himself may be adamantly opposed to such things.
but then again, he IS an actor, and therefor his thoughts and opinions are moot, to me.
*still likes Steel Dragon*
*screams, "Stand up and shoooooooooooooout"*

Well, now a little of the rest of the story.
In an interview before the release of the movie, Marky said that he had gone to a Marine Corps Sniper School to get the real skinny on long range shooting. Now it turns out that he never did, now he says he went to "A place called Front Sight in Nevada" where they got "Marine type" training.
In other words he still has no idea.
Nothing against Front Sight, but I doubt they went through anything more than basic and advanced marksmanship (if that) and none of the rest.
He still hasn't replied to my question about his views on gun control on the "Official Mark Wahlburg Web Site" where he supposedly hangs out from time to time.

I saw the movie last nigth and I enjoyed it.
The obvious jabs at the current administration were amusing.
There were some inaccuracies but so be it. We go to the movies for entertainment not factual information gathering.
One quote from the senator did stay with me...
"There is always one lost sole that still believes that one man can make a difference, and you would have to kill him to prove otherwise. That's the probelm with democracy."
