UPDATE: Plastic in Hand June 10, 2013

123 days! Mailed to plastic in hand. That is ridiculous.

I called June 4th to check status since it had been in "Manufacturing" for almost 2 months. They said, "Oh, you should have gotten it 6 wks ago. Our fault." So, I guess I would have never gotten it unless I called!

If it's been over 60 days, be sure to call regularly.

Feb 6th - Mailed Paperwork
Feb 11 - Received
March 11 - Background pending
April 11 - Manufacturing
June 7 - Mailed
June 10 - Plastic in hand

42 days. Mailed packet on 5-8-13, received license 6-19-13.

New to the forum. I sent my packet into DPS 05/28/2013. The online status has now changed to everything is in the green except for a few yellow boxes.... IE: Application : Received, Fingerprints : Under review, Background Check : Under review and Concealed Handgun License : Print pending completion of application review. Being the rookie that I am here where is my standing in the process??? When can I expect my plastic? Any help would be appreciated!!!!

Packet received in DPS June 4. Today my account updated for the first time and went right to manufacture pending! Looks like I could be in the 21 day range.

It just depends on how long your bg takes. some take a few days, some take weeks and some take months. there is no way to tell how long it will take. Good luck and welcome to the forum

Well, it came today 24 days mailbox to mailbox. Not my first chl.... Just my first in Texas. In honor of tradition a Wally Walk will commence tomorrow!

It's the waiting game... I guess we are moving at Goverment speed now!!

95 days, packet to plastic. I had a "reported history" issue I had to take care of, which I am sure slowed things down. I received the letter from the Medical Advisory Board over Memorial Day weekend, took it to my doctor the next week, he filled it out and mailed it in and 2 1/2 weeks later, (today!) plastic was in the mail!

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and just received my plastic last week

I'd say it took about 64 days end-to-end, and that includes having to resend a document that was missing a date. My wife sent hers in a little later, and is still pending.

A note to those who haven't sent in your documents- check every field on every form to make sure you have all info down, and do not mail the document! Scan it to PDF and upload it to the sites 'contact us' page. If you don't have a scanner or multi-function printer at work or home you can probably find one at a UPS store or Kinko's.

Use email and the contact us page to (politely) nudge things along is you feel things are going too slow. I truly mean politely- these folks are overwhelmed with applications and that isn't going to slow down soon. Letting them know that I appreciated how busy they were and just wanted to check to see if I provided the right info helped move things along.

Certified mail is more costly, slow, and unreliable than email.
