The FBI is not supposed to lie.
In this particular case, I don't think they were lieing. I think they were just stalling to try to get a better spin on the truth before releasing what happened.

And I agree that any law enforcement agency should be held to a high enough standard where truth and justice are their number 1 priority, but alas, real world reality tells the real unadulterated truth.

I saw the same story.

ND with carbines is a lot easier than a with a pistol. Unless you train daily, the edge goes away and you get very sloppy. Its always good procedure to run through some drills and do a sandtable before heading out to get every head and finger in the game, but I doubt if the FBI does this with their tac teams. The carbines look so light and small that people dont take them seriously either. Spalling from a richochet or a near hit on something by your head will easily kill you - the rounds are going so fast.
