Dale won the first round with a 19. I won the second round with a 20. AndyC won the third round with a 22.

I did as good as I hoped to do and that is rare. While getting a 16 or 17 in the first round, the second produced my second 20+ round, but in the third I pulled a 21 out of my wazoo. And although I did beat AndyC by 1 shot in the second round, he was still adjusting after having shot the first round with the .410 adapters in his 12ga with a score that shall not be mentioned.

Thank you to Pawpaw's grandson and RottenApple's son for throwing the birds for us and to my daughter for keeping score. I think that made it easier on us shooters.

Great time and fun putting some faces to screen names.

My new Yildiz O/U is a delight to shoot and performed great.

First time shooting skeet so I can't exactly be disappointed with my performance. Looking forward to the next time!!!!

We all had tons of fun today. You could easily tell Dale enjoyed himself and fit in well with this group, as I knew he would. Thank you everyone, just for being yourselves.

I will second C-dub's satement that Holly's scorekeeping (and keeping us going in the right order) and William's running the traps added to the fun.

William says he had a lot of fun and want's to shoot next time! I think I'll start looking for a 20ga for him to use.

The recoil unfortunately wasn't enough to reset the hammer on the second barrel of my O/U (which I kinda expected - it can be tuned) but we had a look inside the barrel after the first round and saw where the pellets were ricocheting off the inside of the barrel halfway down. That totally blew the patterns to shreds, I guess.

I enjoyed meeting and shooting with Bobby, Dale and Andrew - and a huge thank you to Holly once again for score-keeping and RottenApple's son for pulling the birds

Sorry to hear the adapter was a bust, Andy. Maybe I will try to figure out the Briley tubes. 'course I can barely achieve a decent score with 12ga so .410 may be prove to be too frustrating. Sounds like a good time was had by all.

Still have had no luck with a get together down here in Houston Hope I can get up there next time ya'll get together.

I'm as shocked as anyone at my scores. I'm happy about them, but shocked. I thought trap shooting would be easier, but for some reason I don't do as well. Ii don't know what it is, but I do better at skeet.

Poor TAM had a heck of a hard time with a right-handed gun - very frustrating indeed.

The gun was a major distraction, for sure. The weight was wrong, the balance and the cast were off, but also the LOP and the comb height. But I also haven't shot skeet since early last October, so I'm really out of practice too. I need to get out and shoot more. Even so, I had a great time.

C-dub, Holly was a treat, a real nice young lady. I think we all enjoyed having her around, and pawpaw's grandson too. Both kids were polite and well behaved, and great to have around.

A misfit gun is definitely a bummer. I bought a Beretta Silver Snipe back in the 60's for skeet. Had in lay-away and took it to the range. Shot 9 rounds of skeet with it and my high score was 7. I had been renting 101's and Brownings and shot consistent 22-24's to get ready for my "new" O/U. I had been shooting a Win 1200 before getting into O/U's. Traded the Beretta for a stereo and bought a Daly and I was back at my old averages. Never did break 25 straight , my twin brother made 100 straight at one of the ranges we shot at . The range owner was out of 100 straight patches and offered him 4 -25's Seriously, he did!

Thanks, Andy. Your coaching is awesome and your patience with us newbies is amazing. I've always loved pistol & rifle, but thanks to guys like you and Pawpaw, I'm learning to love skeet too. I'm going to take your advice and start shooting more. It'll take me some time to save up enough for my first shotgun, but its gonna be worth it.

As for everyone else who came out, I had a blast with y'all. Was great meeting y'all face to face and I can't wait till the next time.

Andy got me to where I'm at in that game. I only shot my first skeet at our get together that arranged by RX8er and The Busy Mom back in April. I think 12-13 might have been my high then. Since then, every time I go I hear Andy's voice in my ear telling me about the speed of the bird and lead distance.

But dude, you've got preternatural reflexes. You were far and away the fastest shot of all of us. It was impressive how fast you got your shots off.
