I think this is a TROLL.
However, if not, then this is one of the worst ideas I have heard this week. All it will do is give the anti's some ammo for their side.

I've said it before & will say it again----the fringe radical element who are intent on creating spectacles of themselves and causing incidents are causing problems for the cause & for the rest of us.
The CEO merely stated that they "prefer" that people do not congregate while open carrying at their place of business, with the deliberate attempt of disrupting business. As a business owner I totally understand that. He also stated that the employees would not try to enforce it. I will be writing a letter to the CEO stating my position from all angles & asking him to make his point clearer---that he is NOT banning gun owners, etc.
Their policy has always been to abide by the laws of the state where the store is located and that is still in place.

On another note I talked to a girl I have known for 20 years yesterday(since she was a little girl) who happens to work at Starbucks. In the conversation, she made the comment that she doesn't like guns & that it made her feel safer. I followed that with "you do know that I carry all the time, don't you"----Of course she didn't--I carry concealed & do nothing to draw attention to myself! After more conversation found out that the only time she has ever shot a gun was with her dad when she was little(and knowing some of the family history, that was no doubt not a positive experience). She is now right on the edge of going with me & introducing her to the "fun" and the positive side of guns.

Instead of causing problems we, as responsible gun owners/carriers need to work on being a positive influence on our community

I vote we /thread and lock it now. Then restart a new thread with JustMe's post titled how to positively influence people toward gun acceptance.

Going off what just me said, how about " take a Starbucks employee shooting week".

No responsible gun owner will bring an open carried gun to Starbucks on the so-called National Troll blah, blah day...

My LGS has pretty good coffee...fresh...and ya just put a dollar in the jar when ya grab a cup...

I agree with TAM. Starbucks wants to play both sides, which is smart for business. Doing things like this forces their hand. I brew my own coffee, so I could care less what Starbucks thinks. However, if you really like their brew, you would catch more flies with honey as opposed to drawing a minimum wage employee who is simply caught in the middle to take sides.

Why would you do this? Imagine if you owned or were responsible for a business and you *asked* people to respect your rules on your property? Why do you think that your 2nd amendment right to carries allows you to trample the rights of private property management?

Beyond that, it's going to get the kind of attention that *we* don't want. We should be better behaved than the average bear.

I'm all for open carry, and I have a dream that one day guns will be judged not by the color of their metal but by the character of the one who holds it.

However that means that OC advocates need to conduct themselves using a winsome and attractive manner.
Starbucks has all but said, "We don't want to be forced in to this debate, please take your fight outside our stores". OC advocates should respect that.

I would much rather see a "Take your liberal friend to the range day". I actually did this with a friend of mine about 2 weeks ago. She has now moved from total anti to someone who does not have a problem with "responsible people" carrying. She's not going to view someone who videos themselves confronting police in Starbucks arguing their rights as responsible.

Wonder if this was put out there by the left!

Establish a bit of credibility and then BAM, introduce an idea a few inflexibles will latch onto...and create maximum damage.
