That's possible but tough to prove because OC handguns aren't legal for mere citizens in many antigun states where they get the vapors if a mere citizen has a gun. So there is a selection bias for hysterical blissninnies in the states that ban OC handguns.

I like the picture of the 2 guys sitting with the rifle barrels digging int the concrete, ground or whatever is under the barrel. Not a good way to treat a weapon.

Now, on the note of the thread, my wife and daughter own a business and run it together. They have a sign in the front window that says CHL's welcome here. I had an interesting conversation with both of them after seeing the Starbucks thread and asked what they would do. Their answer was if someone walked into their shop with a weapon displayed, they would probably be looking down the barrel of at least one if not two XD's. Interesting point. How would they know that this person was not there to rob them? Yes he can legally carry a rifle openly, BUT, that doesn't eliminate the fact that the girls would, in their minds, be protecting themselves.

These people that are doing this before something like this happens and someone gets hurt or gets dead.

What I have on my person is my business and no one else's. What I carry is no one's business. Mine alone. All other's rights end where my person exists. If the doors are open to everyone (PUBLIC) then the owner cannot tell me what not to carry on MY PERSON.

It's an effective one-two punch. Block legalization of openly carried handguns for We The People and then disparage those who comply with the law in those states by carrying a rifle. Even I have to admit there's a mad genius to the antis' plan.

What is so fascinating to me is that the reaction above is probably pretty main stream and "normal". However, spending time in Montana, I saw lots of guns carrying openly down town and no one (other than me) looked twice. We react so strongly to the site of someone carrying a weapon because it's all but prohibited currently. Well, to be specific, carrying a handgun openly is prohibited.... I understand there is more hunting/fishing there, but I can't really think of a good reason for anyone to carry downtown any more than here in Texas.

The 2nd amendment is already mostly dead in Texas. I understand why in-your-face isn't a good strategy if you want to win hearts and minds, but let's call this spade a spade...

Concealed laws are the answer for personal protection. They're also a nod to the reality that we can't openly bear arms anymore.
