With the SBR?
I think this is what makes the AR Pistol so nice. You can travel all you want without paper work.

You have to register Short barreled Rifles, Short Barreled shotguns, silencers, and Machine guns with the ATF, there is also an Any other weapon (AOW) and Destructive Devices (grenades/ anything bigger than .50 cal) catagory

I think cajunautoxer is talking about the unconstitutional requirement to notify the Minions of Sauron of travel plans, not the unconstitutional requirement to get permission from the Minions of Sauron to own or make, and pay the smoke pole tax.

From the attorney who drew up my trust for me, in response to this question:
If you transport an NFA Item (with the exception of Suppressors) across state lines you have to notify the ATF in advance and get their permission. use ATF Form 5320.20

I take back the following statement above:
I think this is what makes the AR Pistol so nice. You can travel all you want without paper work.
You can travel in Texas all you want. It appears Oklahoma's definition of handgun and ATF is very different. My AR Pistol is 28" long.
Title 21. Crimes and Punishments

2. "Pistol" means any derringer, revolver or semiautomatic firearm which:

b. is capable of discharging a projectile composed of any material which may reasonably be
expected to be able to cause lethal injury,

The definition of pistol for purposes of the Oklahoma Self

Planning a trip to Oklahoma next week, but without the AR Pistol.

The ruling on the SIG Brace is what made me start considering an AR pistol as a serious tool instead of a range fun gun. The short barrel makes it a 100m gun but for urban environments that's probably sufficient.
All of this may be changing?

Earlier today, BATFE released an Open Letter on the Redesign of “Stabilizing Braces.” This letter articulates BATFE’s official position on the use of pistol stabilizing braces like the Sig Sauer SB15. It concludes that “[a]ny person who intends to use a handgun stabilizing brace as a shoulder stock on a pistol (having a rifled barrel under 16 inches in length or a smooth bore firearm with a barrel under 18 inches in length) must first file an ATF Form 1 and pay the applicable tax because the resulting firearm will be subject to all provisions of the NFA.”

They are really fun to shoot. I have a Spike's with a 7.5" bbl and a Trijicon 1x reflex sight, consistently places hits on steel at over 100 yds. The little guns do rock & roll with recoil and the short gas tube can lead them to be finickly until broken-in. I had to play with buffer and spring combo's to get it to reliably feed. I find that I prefer a shorter (20 rnd) mag as well. I can take or leave the sig brace.

My barrel is 10 1/2" long with the Noveske flash hidder. The Noveske pushes the sound away from you. I have the carbine length gas tube and it works great. The 7 1/2" would put the flash to close to my face.

I had no problem with flash or noise at 7.5". I do typically run .223 even though I'm chambered for 5.56 as its a little less pressure. Also have good eye & ear protection.
The loudest rifle I have experienced is the POF .308 SBR. I swear you could see the pressure wave radiating off the muzzle like in the "Matrix" movie!

Got this email from sig last week.
"BATFE REAFFIRMS PISTOL BRACE LEGAL TO OWN, INSTALL AND USE .
Newington, N. H. (February 20, 2015) – SIG SAUER, Inc. has issued the following statement relative to the January 2015 open opinion letter issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms regarding the SB15 and SBX Pistol Stabilizing Braces.
BATFE Technical Branch issued an open opinion letter dated January 16, 2015 regarding the Pistol Stabilizing Brace (SB15 and SBX) which is marketed by SIG SAUER®. Contrary to several statements subsequently made in social media, this opinion letter did not make or otherwise declare that the SB15 product is illegal. The BATFE letter stated that the SB15 is a product “which is legal to own, legal to purchase and legal to install on a pistol.” SIG SAUER believes that the PSB enhances the shooter’s experience and offers the products as an accessory and pre-installed on a number of pistols. In all of its opinions, BATFE has consistently stated that a pistol with a stabilizing brace attached remains a pistol under the Gun Control Act when used as designed."

I believe the most recent letter addressed the legality of using the brace against your shoulder (as in its not legal to do so). I don't see where this email disputes the contents of the letter.
