Almost the same thing over here in Allen with the 1am quake. I was lying in bed almost asleep when I heard a funny twanging noise. Knowing that my wife has been playing with the ring tones on her phone, I was inclined to blame her for waking me up, but then I realized the noise had not come from her direction. A little investigation revealed that a four foot metal ruler that I had leaned against the wall made the right tone when tapped, so attributed it to the wind, or a passing truck and moved the ruler and went to sleep. The ruler had been leaning against the wall in such a way that it was balanced at two points, the corner of the ruler on the floor and a point of the textured wall at the top and why it had not fallen over I do not know, but it definitely was what made the noise, and the time was right.baldeagle wrote:I just realized today that I felt it last night. I've been through earthquakes in San Francisco. These are nothing. When your TV stand starts rolling around on the floor, pictures start falling off the walls, and the seat you're sitting in is vibrating, THAT is an earthquake. A minor one, but an earthquake.
