Took my class on Jan. 7th, had all my info to them on Jan 8th. Was worried that I'd have to show additional literature on an arrest I had about 11 years ago where I got in a bar fight in self defense, went to jail for a simple disorderly conduct for being in said fight, paid my bail and never thought about it again. I forgot to mention it in the application but I guess it didn't matter because I checked today and my address, etc. can be changed so that must mean its in the mail. Less than a month!!!

January 2014 - CHL Class (CHL 100 should be good for two years; couldn't find anything in the laws to confirm that but the instructor told me it's valid for two years)

1/10/2015 - CHL application submitted online
1/15/2015 - fingerprints
1/15/2015 - CHL 100 sent to DPS online
1/26/2015 - DPS began processing background check
3/9/2015 - License Issued (just spoke with DPS to confirm)

Plastic should be in the mail in the next week. :patriot:

Note: I was adjudicated for felony grade delinquent conduct in August of 2004; the charge was possession of a controlled substance on school property. It's been about 10 and a half years since the adjudication. I purposely waited till after August 2014 to submit my app.

I didn't disclose what happened because it's been over 10 years since the adjudication and my records are sealed. I had no issue getting a professional license through one of Texas' certification boards; I didn't disclose what happened on that application either. I'm not requred to disclose that info under section 58.001(j) of the Texas Family Code.
