I agree with what you're saying TAM. But look at it from the point of the people who hired these legislators. We have wanted these Reconstruction era laws removed for years. GOP says "we don't have the votes". So we go to the polls and give them a larger majority. Next session, "we're just a few votes short". So we give them a bigger majority. Now the GOP adds this to their party platform and are given near historic majorities. And they're still saying "we're short on votes".

If I'm working a project for my employer and went back to the well for "more" that many times, I'd likely be out of a job. And I think a LOT of people are frustrated by the same old song and dance from every legislative session. At some point the GOP needs to produce the goods.

The make up of the legislature is roughly the same as it has been for the last several years, as has been the case with every statewide office. So that has no bearing. The legislative process is deliberately designed to make passing laws difficult under a very tight time constraint. The idea being that only bills that have been well thought out and thoroughly debated within the allotted time get passed. If you want to see what kind of a mess a full time legislature can make, look immediately east to Louisiana.

Though I share your sentiment, theses representatives represent everyone...me...you...Korey Wilkins...their integrity is on the line when they decide to legislatively 'stick it' to anyone in Texas.

Unlicensed OC is dead. I'm talking about a tactic to get legislators behind a bill that still gives us OC. I have no problem with pointing out to legislators that passing licensed OC would not only be good for Texas, but would also tick off the likes of OCT.
