That is me. I just picked up a new scrip today, for something that I ran out of last week, because my doctor was out of town for the week. It was a tough week. Also, because it is such a PIA to get it refilled, I stretch it out and make the prescription last longer than the dosing instructions on the bottle. I make deliberate decisions to live with some pain, so that I don't have to be out of stock when the pain gets really bad. And by the way, they aren't actually refills. Each one is its own discreet prescription. It is actually making me consider changing doctors, for the simple reason that I live in Grapevine, but my Doctor's office relocated to Keller a while back. As long as I only have to drive there a couple of times a year for my checkups, I'm OK with the distance. But if I have to go visit him each time I need to get a renewed prescription of pain meds, then it is a problem. So I'm considering changing providers to a doctor in the Grapevine area.

Yeah, the DEA made an enemy out of me for life in October.

TAM, I really feel sorry for you and the millions of people being hurt by this obnoxious rule by the feds without thought for the misery that it causes. We know that more people are killed by legal drugs than illegal drugs but the feds have gone overboard and the innocent people with severe pain suffer. The doctors of course are the ones being blamed for not giving refills and fewer doctors are willing to take on patients like yourself because of the liability. This is a terrible problem. To me this is more important than the possible benefit (although there may be some) of marijuana being used for medicinal use. I hope that people write their legislators and complain and ask for a reasonable change back to end the suffering this has brought.

What possible harm could a little pot smoking lead to?

I'd be willing to bet that IF medicinal marijuana passes in Texas it would still be easier to get than RX narcotics.
Anytime I get pain or migraine meds i've got to take the script in person to the pharmacy instead of it being called in or faxed, its such a pain.

The comments on this thread crack me up. people complain about how hard it is to get oxy and whatever. I bet for every legit medical pot smoker there is 50 just wanting it to get high. Presciption drugs have been made hard to get by people who are just looking for a high.

This is a federal form not state so how does it being legal at the state level matter?

The question on 4473 ask if your an unlawful user. Someone with a prescription would be a lawful user.
