What happens if you shoot someone is self defense?

I think this is an excellent thread. I haven't done many searches, but would it be a bad idea to have a thread dedicated to scenarios and hypothetical self and third-party defense situations in which we either WOULD or WOULDN'T draw/fire our weapons?

I forget how the equivocation is worded exactly, but under use of deadly force in the penal code, it speaks to the actions that reasonable people would take in a situation. I think we're all pretty reasonable here, so why not discuss various situations and how we would each respond to them?
