Using black rifles for home defense

Prople keep telling me using an Ak or Ar for defense is a bad idea.

People tell me that a rifle is the best thing for self defense. You're listening to the wrong people.

You have probably heard "Don't use anything that you would not want held up in open court."

I have one of these on my M4 in just about the same spot on the rails. I wouldn't mind having it held up in court and it might even help me.

I think a lot of people are guilty of putting stupid things on their dust covers & back plates (on Glocks)

There are some that are not so great, but there are also some really cool ones.

And while you're waiting for 'them' to provide some examples of lawful self defense uses that were prosecuted merely because an assault rifle was used, here's some examples of home defense (using a 'black rifle') that weren't prosecuted (albiet only one example is from Texas):

As others have indicated, Texas Penal Code 9.32 doesn't specify what instrument can (or can't) be used to defend against someone's unlawful use of deadly force against you (or the other instances where dealdy force is presumed reasonable to protect against).
