Ask them to provide you with some examples :cool:
And while you're waiting for 'them' to provide some examples of lawful self defense uses that were prosecuted merely because an assault rifle was used, here's some examples of home defense (using a 'black rifle') that weren't prosecuted (albiet only one example is from Texas):

As others have indicated, Texas Penal Code 9.32 doesn't specify what instrument can (or can't) be used to defend against someone's unlawful use of deadly force against you (or the other instances where dealdy force is presumed reasonable to protect against).
