Thanks! That's very helpful. I'm going to probably remove the grip safety and thumb safety from my other 1911 tonight and then reassemble to get a good look at everything

Holy moly, Andy..... is that a calibration slot for a .250" feeler gauge?!?!?!? :shock:

I am a long long way from being a gunsmith, but I have laid my hands and eyes on a lot of 1911's. I have never ever seen anything like that. :shock:
