May I temporarily hijack this thread for a moment? How has that barrel "donut" worled for you beiruty? I've seen them before, and the science certainly makes sense, but do they really work?

I say yes, but
it could me who improved as a shooter,
it could be my reloads,
it could the Muzzle brake,
it could be the Limbsaver recoil pad....
I think as an Engineer any vibrations or lateral expansion that are attenuated before they reach the Muzzle would certainly help.
The Idea is to place the donut where the shockwave are peaked so attenuation could be maxed out.
The concept of OBT indicates if you tune the load so the at the time the bullet is leaving the barrel, the barrel is not laterally expanding nor contracting due to bouncing shockwaves, the bullet dispersion is minimized. The "barrel wipe" and recoil jump are less of importance and can be corrected via zeroing.

Update: Well after careful consideration and research this is what I settled on.
Savage Axis II Kryptek Highlander Exclusive 6.5 Creedmoor with 4-12x40 Scope and Heavy Barrel.
I'll change out the glass and trigger after I play with it for a while.
Special Note To: Beiruty, I looked high and low for the Tikka you recommended but all I found was out of stock or back ordered items. Maybe next time.
