I hear you about magazines being periodicals. Things develop and change over time. I still refuse to get in my truck and start it if my wife calls it a car. I explain to her a car is designed to haul people and a truck is designed to haul materials and gear. Can't believe she has stayed married to me for 31 years so far.
It's all in good fun. No sense in anyone getting twisted around the axle over something like a Glock clip when the world is crumbling down around us. However, I still get real upset with myself when I think in my head someone needs a good pistol whipping and I picture my 357 S&W revolver in my mind. About the time I start to slap myself, I remember the term pistol whip originated long before semi-auto pistols. Well, at least it did according to some westerns my dad used to watch.

I don't get worked up about it, and yes we all know what is meant, but I don't think its a question of semantics. Calling a barrel a "tube" or a "pipe" is semantics. Calling a trigger a "bang switch" is semantics. Calling a magazine a clip is different. Magazines and clips serve different functions. If I want more magazines for my M1 Carbine, I order magazines. If I want more clips to load the magazines, I order clips. Two different items.
When I was in the Infantry with a Garand, the clips were packed in the ammo crates. No magazines. When I got an M14, we got magazines, but no clips in the ammo crates. Same with the M16.
I just think it shows lack of knowledge, or caring, of the difference to call a magazine a clip. Just my opinion. Everyone has one.
Put it this way, if I enrolled my kid in a firearm safety class and the instructor told everyone to make sure they kept their "boom sticks" pointed down range, and "keep their booger hooks of the bang switch" until ready to fire, and remove their "clips" and clear any "bullets" from the "pipe" when a cease fire is called, I'd be looking for another class for my kid.

The purpose of my initial post was to answer a question posed by Texas Tornado who asked, "Ok for those of us young whippersnappers would someone care to explain "clip"?" And I did. But because I believe that magazines and clips are different, and that I think using "slang terms" to describe magazines or other firearms parts sets a poor example, does not equate to "worked up." Because I choose to voice an opinion on this forum (as you have obviously done over 7,000 times,) still does not equate to "worked up." If it does, then any time you have disagreed with a post, you must have been getting "worked up." I doubt that was the case.
I imagine my correct terminology position is an outgrowth of my time time spent as an Army weapons instructor, and not a question of weather or not I demand it. I would have no problem buying a magazine or clip from that vendor, if the price was right.

I took a friend ,who had no experience with firearms but was interested in learning, to the range one weekend. He asked me if I could show him how to load a "clip". Out of the blue, a man who was at the range to pour a concrete pad, went ballistic telling my friend what a blankety blank idiot he was and that it was a magazine and not a clip. I explained the difference between moon clips, stripper clips and magazines to my friend. About that time I heard the man ask one of his co-workers how much cement they needed to pour their slab. I went off and told him that he was a bankety blank idiot because you poured concrete not cement. After my out burst I then asked the guy how it felt to be berated for an honest mistake.
I wouldn't mind buying magazines from them. Although, when I looked at the website, I did not find where they were selling magazines my sports illustrated is coming due soon.
What they were selling was at MSRP and I don't pay MSRP.
