Break in period garbage

Re: Break in period garbage
Although I do not believe in a "break in" period, I will put at least 200 rounds through it to get used to it (after initial cleaning). If it malfunctions within that 200 rounds, I start looking for the cause. Something minor, I will fix it but if the cause can't be determined or is a major issue, it goes back to the factory.

I skip the initial clean and shoot 'em until they work. Only ever had one that I couldn't get to feed reliably and that was actually a Remington .308 semi-auto hunting rifle....RPBrown wrote:Although I do not believe in a "break in" period, I will put at least 200 rounds through it to get used to it (after initial cleaning). Thanks. No harm, no foul (pun intended).Beiruty wrote:Skippr, not all barrels are the same. Nosler stated on their webpage linked above that their rifles are Factory Broken-in. Then, they recommend to follow shoot/clean for strings of rds.

My question really had nothing to do with the OP about a lengthy "mandatory" break-in period for reliability, so I probably shouldn't have brought it up.
