California is a pretty conservative State once you take Los angels and San Francisco out of the equation. Lots of farmers and ranchers in the rest of the state. California’s 55 electoral votes would definitely come into play.

What'l happen once all the wage earners completely abandon cali for parts unknown?
Who'll the cali government tax then?
Once the bums/crazies/criminals are the only ones left.. oh wait, that wasn't pc of me was it? Ahem, once "the homeless' and all the rest of those won't/don't work are left, who'll pay the bills?
Maybe India or Bangladesh will be willing to help. Or...Mexico...?

Well, those 55 electoral votes might change especially if the census asks about citizenship status on top of that. Who knows how it will shake out.
