Well, I guess I could update my status since I started this thread...

After a call and an email to my Rep, I was put in touch with Sharon Slover, the district rep's assistant for Cypress. We exchanged emails for a bit, and she made a few calls and emails for me. This was the week of 6/8-6/12.

My BG check came back yesterday and I notified Sharon of this, so she made a call to Austin for me, and a very nice lady named Deidre called me this morning, notifying me that my application was complete and sent to print. I was told yesterday by a processor that it would be another 2-3 weeks before it would be printed. Deidre said it was being expedited and I should receive my plastic on Monday or Tuesday. Yay!

I'll post when it actually arrives.

I understand the backlog and the commissioned officer issues.
Is the department waiting on any other information other than
the Background Check?

Is it the Harris County or Brazoria County check that is delayed?

Is there an estimated date of completion for the application?

164 days and counting. I called again yesterday and was told my background check was finally completed and received back on 6/16. Now I am told to wait another 2-4 weeks for printing. This has turned into a 6 month long adventure. I'm thinking of submitting my renewal application tomorrow just to be safe.

6/19-Latest update is from Diedre. She located my Harris County Background check. She said is going to print and should have it back soon and then mailed. I think the adage "the squeaky wheel gets the grease" works here. Good luck to everyone. Be Safe.

Class on 1/24, PIN on 2/23, finally "Application Completed" on 6/24. Like someone else said, maybe I should send in the paperwork for the renewal.

You took your class the same day as me...I mailed my application on 1/31, and 79 days later recieved my license in the mail.

Today is day 160 Seriously 100 days late. What gives.

Deidre pulled through for me! II got a call from DPS at my office number (weird...) and was given a tracking number, an apology for the delay, and was overnighted my plastic on Tuesday, received it Wednesday, and couldnt be happier!!

I'm hoping that the calls and emails I made sped the process up, thats what I would like to believe anways. It made me feel good that the rep's were actually doing something to help out the little guy.

It did for me. I emailed DPS and got a call that day then follwed up a few days later and they said they got it taken care of. I am waiting for it in the mail but the status says "complete".

GF is on day 140, last excuse....

She never lived or worked in Tarrant County, actually she has never been to Tarrant County

Get that info to your Representative if he is a pro gun one.
That has helped several.

Well, it's been a long time, but the time has finally come to say "adios" to the waiting room. CHL arrived in the mail today after 152 days of waiting and emails to both my senator and representative.

Time to get that renewal in the mail!
