exactly my experience ... rather than trade, or buy another gun with the proceeds (which usually ends up in another disaster), I bought a new chronograph, replaced a digital scale, bought a few reloading components, and gave the wife a "Christmas bonus". I think that will probably be my last "plastic fantastic".

I just picked up a Taurus MilPro G2, new with 2 mags for $300. Good little gun for the money.

Got mine back last week, sent it in October. Trigger is def. worse, lots of creep before it breaks, but I don't care. I can hide that gun anywhere, and thats why I bought it.

Hopefully some one comes out with a kit that improves the trigger. I know PRP had a spring kit before the recall - not sure if they have released one for post recall or not - or if it will help or not.

This looks like a winner. I ordered one.

I've installed the Apex kits on other pistols and they made a very significant difference.

I don't think they have got a post-recall grip safety though...alot of folks are waiting for it. But, post recall, the grip safety doesn't have to be pressed NEAR as far to function.

On their website they specified that the gun must be post recall for the kit to work properly.

I got my 2 XDs 45s back at the end of December. The triggers were heavy with a long pull (felt like I was pulling on a double action revolver). I put 250 rounds through each pistol and did lots of dry firing. The smoothed out a little but still a long heavy pull (don't know how heavy as my trigger gauge does not go that high). I called Springfield Armory about this today. I told them that the trigger is significantly different than what is was went I bought them and that, if they had a trigger like that when I examined them in the store, I would not have bought them. Since the pistol trigger is so different, I asked for my money back. They said no to that. I was told to check the trigger pull. The spec for a recall pistol is 5.5 to 7.7 pounds. If it is above that, they will issue a call tag and work on the trigger. I told them that I did not want to send them in just to get a trigger that is 7.6 pounds. She assured me that they would take them down to 5.5 pounds if I had to send them back. She said it would only take two weeks as it will go to a different department than the recall department. She also stated that they did trigger jobs on XDs pistols and could take them down to 4 pounds but, because of the recall, they are not doing any "special" trigger jobs now.

I will need to borrow a gauge from a friend to see what I have. If they are over 7.7 pounds, they are going back to SA. Will update when I know more.

This is what I'm afraid of. If mine comes back like this I will probably sell it and move on.

I'm happy with mine. The take-up is shorter but the reset is longer. I didn't have the gritty trigger that others have complained about but I did clean mine before I shot it.

Mine is finally enroute on the way back to me. It says Fedex 2nd day, and it shipped yesterday, so tomorrow would be "2nd Day"; but the tracking# says "weekday delivery", so I'm expecting to see it on Monday.

I invested $18 in a replacement spring kit from Powder River Precision that is supposed to improve the trigger action substantially. I'm still waiting for it to be delivered.

I'll let you know what I think about it once I get it installed and tested.
