It seems that all action has come to a complete halt at DPS because of this FBI census deal. I'm not seeing any new news here about complete past 4/25. I would have thought mine would have hit the complete stage by now, but I already called and they told me that mine is on hold because of the FBI background check. Oh well, maybe next week.

:txflag:
I was going to call them today to see if mine was complete or held up due to the Census work, but I'm at peace with the fact that the wait is nearly over and it will get here when it gets here.

I sure hope it does not take as long as mine did.
Mine ran 118 days.
Some of my students have had them back in less than 30 lately.
Her plastic showed up in the mail today!
She is VERY happy!

So most of the March folks have gotten their plastic, but for those of us still waiting, check out the new format at DPS. It is SO much better than before. They actually give you all of the steps in the process and your status for each step.

For example, here's my status on the new website:

* Application : Received
* Fingerprints : Received
* Affidavits : Received
* DL or ID : Valid
* Citizenship : No documentation required
* Passport photo holder : Received
* Photo : Received
* Proof of Classroom training : Received
* Proof of Proficiency training : Received
* Proof of Special Condition : Received
* Fee : Received
* Background Check : Completed
* Concealed Handgun License : Manufacturing

That's right y'all! It looks like my application is complete and off at the printers! Since I'm in Austin (Pflugerville), I wonder if I'll get plastic this week? I also wonder if the status will change from "Manufacturing" to "Mailed" or something similar?

Oh well, at least I can :anamatedbanana and :cheers2:. It should be in the mail soon!

Congrats! - and Finally!
As far as the next status, looking at mine, it shows "Concealed Handgun License : Mailed " as the last step, so it should update one more time. I wonder though, if it is like before, where it batch updated, and there was no rhyme to when that may happen.
Either way, at least knowing it is "manufacturing" is a good thing. you should have your license by Wednesday would be my bet

Well more good news. My wife's application was completed on 04-29-10 exactly one month after DPS received it and the plastic showed up Saturday on May 1st! My application that was received by DPS the same day show "Manufacturing" as of today. Given that they have now changed the website and the language they use I can only assume that mine is approved and the plastic will show in a few days!

Here is my update, love the new site. My brother, who has his license already, logs in and sees the necessities. For example, he can log in and change his address. Very cool

Congrats to all the March graduates. :thumbs2: Are there any non-grads for March left besides me? I believe I was also the last to enter for March, mailed on 3/30. Hopefully, in the next day or two, mine will show that the background has been completed and that my card is being manufactured.

Good news, maybe. I called to see why mine is still stuck at "background check under review" :rules: . They have recieved the background check, but since I did have a little minor felony :oops: when I was a minor about 40 years ago (I did claim it on my app), it may take a little longer than the rest. The good part is that it is currently being reviewed by a technician, so maybe I will have an approval status by today.
