Maybe I should introduce myself as well here.

Age: 29
Gender: Male
Profession/school status: Information Technology / working on bull in IT - Security
Marital status: Single
Years CHL: 0
Texas State Representative House District:Congressional District 16--Congressman Beto O'Rourke
Carry guns/equipment: Ruger SR9

I have worked in computers for over 10 years. My parents have been LEO for as long as I can remember. I learned at a very young age how guns were NOT a toy and what I would like to call the basics (checking a weapon, never touch the trigger unless you are ready to shoot, etc). Now that we have had a family member decide to threaten to burn down the house I live in, I decided to get my CHL. I admit I lack experience and expertise, but I have NO problem asking questions (ask the guys at the range I visit). I am looking forward to being a part of this community. :-)

I was born and raised in a suburb of Indianapolis. I moved here in March for business. I help dentists and roofing contractors with Direct Mail advertising.
So far I've lived in Fort Worth and worked in Dallas and now moved to North Irving (Las Colinas). I am not a gun collector, but I am an avid supporter of legal self defense because this world is filled with crazies.

I found this forum while searching for answers via googleI(CHL wait time & movie theaters that allow CC), and this forum came up as one of the top links, so I figured I'd join. I like to B/S every now and again, but I'm primarily here for info since I am relatively new to carry and having an interest in guns

Just a heads up that I am a moderate conservative/Libertarian, so if I offend your views, it's just the way I was raised and developed psychologically

Good to have you folks!

I don't know if I have posted my details before or not...lol...either way, I have slept since then.

Male
Happily Married (no, my wife didn't make me add the 'happily') with one daughter just starting college.

I was active duty Marine Corps for six years as an ammunition technician. Expert rifle qualification 5th award and expert pistol qualification 3rd award. All the other weapons didn't really have a qualification except the 'he didn't shoot himself with it, so he should be fine' annotation in your record book.

After I got out of the service, I had little more than a passing interest in guns. I liked them, I just had other things I would rather spend my money on. Then came Colorado and Sandy Hook...and all the retardedness that came along with it.

I took my CHL class Feb 2013 and got the card in the mail on May. I have been happily carrying a SA XDs.45 ever since.

I am in Tyler, Texas (I'm originally a yankee from North Texas). If anyone around here needs anything, message me and I'll give ya a phone number.

Semper Fidelis,
Lee
