Has anyone heard of how Bexar County is doing? I'm at 95 days from them signing for it.

Was told probably another Month........... I cannot beleive how SLOW Harris county is in completing their part of the application process. This is a sad display of just how Inept our State Government has become!!
What is their part?
Nueces isn't any better. I'm at day 70 from receiving PIN in mail.
Their part would be completing a records search for the whole 6 months I have been a Harris county resident, and then returning the Investigation to Austin.

I had quit checking my status around day 97 or so because I was tired of the "Prossesing Application" and I had quit calling the DPS because I was tired of hearing "Waiting on your background check" and I quit emailing my Reps. office because that wasnt getting anywhere. I broke down today and checked my status even though I said I wouldnt and it still says prossesing application. I am on day 105 in Harris county, so for anyone in Harris that is under 100 and wondering if anyone is over 100 days here ya go. The DPS said my application looked good and that all thry need is BC. Well I will try and hold off another week before I check my status again.

Harris County
02/07/09 -- CHL Class Taken
02/09/09 -- Packet sent cretified mail w/ money order
02/12/09 -- Packet received by State
03/02/09 -- PIN received
XX/XX/09 -- Application Complete
XX/XX/09 -- Plastic in hand!

I broke down and called DPS today. As always, very rude agent telling me they are waiting on BC to be returned and 'it will get done when it gets done'. State Rep, State Senator, DPS... no one seems to care.

called DPS yesterday, told me they were waiting on Harris County BC and even told me to check back in a month or 2........ just terrible
also wanted to add that I sent in my packet with my father and sister and they both received theirs but they didn't live in Harris County.
My sister even lived out of state in VA and she was the first to get her's back in Mid-April.
My father and I needed to send additional info in early March and sent in both at the same time and he got his around 5/8/09. Just a shame that Harris County can take so long on a simple BC.

With all this talk of how bad Harris County is, does anyone know how Bexar County is doing? I'm at 96 days now since they received it.

May 28th, 2009.
Application Completed - license issued or certificate active
98 days total Way too long, but at least I finally have it. Now to start checking the mail fanatically.
Apparently going to the range worked. It had been since January when I took the class (lack of ammo/time) since I'd been shooting. Go put 50 rounds down range like this:
Go home, clean your gun, check your status. It worked for me!

Update... got a call from Sen Patrick's office. Apparently they do care but tell me there is really nothing they can do about it. They called their one phone number at DPS and was told BC is still stuck in Harris County. Apparently, DPS has absolutely no way to contact Harris County to check on the status (or so they say). Sen Patrick's office says they would love to help but don't know what else to do.
Anyone with a representative that could actually get DPS to do something, please let me know who the representative was (and the contact in the office if you remember) so I can put Sen Patrick's office in touch with that person to understand what they did differently.

You should have fixed that flyer at 6:00 before posting the pic!
Congrats...I'm at 97 days.

That would have been dishonest.

I figure 49 out of 50 shots in the black is pretty good. 98% works for me. I was sloppy. Would you believe that one flyer was my last shot? Got cocky, made a bad shot as a result.
