Gosh, that was THE shortest invocation I've ever heard out of this session of the Legislature.

They must want to get into it early, as they have a full plate of bills to wade through.

Looks like the Senate is considering bills on their "Notice of Intent", aka intent calendar as I call it.

Maybe HB 910 WILL be heard today.

Charles has been rather silent lately and he hasn't posted any call to action on Campus Carry. I hope that means there's a plan in the works, but maybe I'm being too optimistic. Anyway, just one more day and we'll find out.

Also, if it was a sure thing that Campus Carry would get blocked in the House, obviously nobody told Moms Demand (who have been spending money on TV ads against Campus Carry).

I'll repeat this for those of you who missed it the first time: The Senate doesn't follow the regular order of business. HB 910 won't be heard until Friday.

EDITED TO ADD AN EXPLANATION: The Senate can't hear a bill until the second day the bill is on the Intent Calendar. A bill can't be placed on the Intent Calendar until the committee report is distributed. The committee report wasn't distributed until after the deadline to place a bill on the Intent Calendar for today, so HB 910 will be placed on the Intent Calendar for tomorrow. That means that Friday (the day after tomorrow) is the earliest the bill will be heard on the Senate floor.
They can suspend the rules, they have been doing this regularly. Is this the same thing you are referring to? If so they could move on HB910 when it comes to the floor.

Lots of movement and milling around on the floor with a crowd gathering, we could be getting near!

Please keep us updated on the progress today. I'm without an Internet connection except for my phone for the moment.

Thanks!

Bill HB910 becomes eligible to be heard Friday, but does not have to be heard on Friday, hope that makes sense So, if Saturday is still Friday, it could be ... :confused5

They just suspended a three day rule for another bill. Just aren't really rules unless it works to your favor.

Those knuckleheads had to lose considerable credibility this session.

I really don't understand the logic of a victim of a mass shooting who was in a "gun free zone" what was injured because someone violated the "gun free zone" campaigning for more "gun free zones."

It didn't help your situation at VA Tech, why would it help in the next situation like the one at VA Tech?
