Personally I am going to sit tight and wait at least 100 days before I even consider starting to contact them. As I am only on day 30 something so I have a way to go yet. :waiting:
I know it's frustrating, but....
I was just updated to "application complete, license issued" on day 104. I had asked my instructor about calling them, but he said it wouldn't do any good, and I should wait until day 120 to call. That conversation was two days before I was updated. Hang tough, you'll get it.

They told me the same thing except it would probably be another Month, and I also called them 2 weeks ago and received the same story...... Waiting on Completed Background from Harris county. Keep us all updated our applications were received around the same date and both with Harris county.

Boaterman and I are in pretty similar boat, no pun intended.

Application complete at DPS on 2/23
Pin on 3/23
More Info for affidavit on 4/28
Misplaced document
Processing again on 5/14
waiting on background check for Brazos County.

I guess I can keep my hopes up after looking at that timeline. Boaterman, what county are you in?

Also, I read on here a month or two ago that somebody received a call from DPS on a Saturday. Does anybody know if DPS works on Saturday?

They must be busy today... on a Saturday to boot. Seeing lots of completed applications. Mine included. :hurry: :thumbs2: :thewave
That makes 101 days. I'm not quite ready to celebrate. I'll do that when I actually see this mystery license they talk about. "rlol"

Congrats man! It is nice to see people getting theirs but frustrating to see other who sent in paperwork after mine getting completed while I continue to get the same lame excuses for why the background check is not done yet. I had absolutely no issues with my paperwork and have been in processing status since March 9th. Clearly they are full of crap with the first in, first out concept.

I guess I don't have much room to complain, given that others from December and January are still waiting. But I will anyway!

What's frustrating me, specifically, is that within 30 working days (M-F) I had a fingerprint rejection letter from DPS. I got reprinted and sent the packet in a couple days later.

I'm now almost 9 weeks since that was re-sent. I'm hoping no news is good news. I think I might call later this week (next Monday will be a full 4 months since initial paperwork was submitted) just to touch base. I'll be in Austin for a while after the 15th; if there are any problems, I might be able to take care of it face-to-face, or drop off what is needed (i.e., fingerprints).

Oh, yeah...Harris County resident.

Thanks for listening to me vent...

I noticed a few of the March folks getting CHL :mad5
Not sure what the problem is but Harris county needs to get on the ball! :rules:

I would call DPS again but I know what they would say "waiting on background check from Harris county".

Here is an update.

Called DPS this afternoon to see how it was going. Their response was that they are waiting on background checks from Brazos County still. I know everybody is impatient, but Brazos Co. is nowhere the size of Harris. I'm stepping off the box now.

Also, does anybody know this answer. I have posted before that I had a Disorderly Conduct for fighting in front of my house as a sophomore at Baylor which was dismissed because of self-defense. Also, same year had a Public Intoxication that was also dismissed. I talked to a county clerk and they said that I would still have a criminal record because I didn't get them expunged, and that most likely I would be denied because of a violent background. Is that true and should just discount this whole process of waiting.

Thanks for any thoughts on this.

It's here :clapping:

Day 108 and I have plastic in hand. Doing the Wally Walk tomorrow as I'm busy setting up my new gun safe tonight!
What a Day: I bought a new safe today, got my CHL, and the new Galco holster I ordered also arrived, and I'm off work tomorrow!
I'm like a kid at Christmas :anamatedbanana

Best wishes to all, I'm out of this waiting room. :woohoo
