I originally saw this on the 1911 forum -->
http://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=229097. Apparently some of them did not believe it, and called to confirm. Apparently it's true, they will charge whatever they think the market will bear.
On a side note, three weeks ago on a Sunday morning, I dropped by a Walmart in San Antonio and picked up a 100 pack of WWB 380 for 31 bucks. The shelf was full of 380 and 380 only, but I only needed one box, so I bought one box.
That is so ridiculous, I just started laughing. Who in the world is dumb enough to pay that kind of money for 50 rounds of Blazer ammo? Crazy...just crazy.

I think this is some sort of an insider joke. The reviews are bogus. I'll bet they got a few boxes and someone at the break room table said "we should make some silly reviews and post this stuff for sell at $70.

"
Sad thing is that they probably have had a few takers.

Should I get some now? Or should I wait...but if I wait, the price may get higher! I think I'm going for it!!!

I heard the reason it was so expensive is it was a special new round. It's called the '.380 Sucker.'

The Academy on I10 and Market had lots of 9mm, 40 and 45, they had a few WWB .380, but not after I left, sorry. They said it wasn't on the shelf more than 5 minutes, I arrived as they opened. Also, the Academy in Pearland has the same but no .380, they're limiting purchases to 4 boxes of one caliber or SKU and I think that's why they have a decent selection, and they aren't gouging. I went to Gander Mt in Sugarland Monday and they had Remington FMJ range 9mm for $49.99 for 50rds, I'll remember them and Cheaper when this all blows over and will buy from those who didn't gouge. In fact Gander had the exact Rem 700 VTR .308 I want, but I didn't buy it, I'll get it from someone who isn't gouging.

Pistol ammo is available at Cabela's in Buda (except for .380) as of 10am Friday, April 3.
They are having a sale on Magtech, and 9mm, .40, and .45 are available in large quantities. .38 and .357 are also on the shelf, but nowhere near as much. I walked out with what I could afford, which still wasn't enough. Y'all get it before it's gone. It's all boxes of 50, none of the "Shootin' Size" boxes are there.
.223 (of various labels) is available in quantity, too (but not less than .50/round), and they even had some WWB .32 ACP.

Going tomorrow to shot my LCP for the first time. Sold the AMT .380 today. No .380 at the Live Oak Civic Center Gun Show. They had some (20 boxes of 50) but the first 2 folks took it all.

Anyone else seeing any signs that things are easing up a bit? While I still have not seen much of the common handgun stuff, I have been seeing more stuff like .223 and other rifle ammo. Plus Academy seems to have a pretty good supply of the 9mm NATO stuff if you don't mind spending $20 for a box of 50.

Better than nothing I guess.

Saw some today at Live Oak. Blazer boxes of 50 for $40. They must think they're golden bullets or something!
