Trump impeached for a second time. McConnell seems to indicate the trial will be held to remove him from office will be held after he has left office. His wife resigned as Secretary of something earlier.
Fully one half of all impeachments in US history have been signed by Nancy Pelosi.
I think I read he loses his retirement benefits and Secret Service protection if convicted. Some talk of him living in Ireland, but they still have extradition with the US. I doubt many businessmen with no political experience will run for President for a long time. The swamp is mean.
With unintended consequences, this could end up being the thing that revitalizes his campaign for 2024, I guess if he is not convicted.
Maybe we will actually get to hear evidence if the election was a fraud after all.
73 million people voted for Trump. 63 million people voted for Obama. The question is will 73 million people come out to vote in 2022 for Republicans, or Independents. Then will 85 million people come out to vote for Democrats in 2022 or just the 63 million.

So if the FBI knew in advance that it was going to happen, does that then mean that Trump's speech really had nothing to do with the attack and therefore the impeachment proceedings from earlier is politically motivated with no actual substance?

Pelosi should be removed from the gov and charged with sedition. She tried to get the Joint Chiefs of staff to take the Nuclear foot ball away from the President. The chairman told her that would be a military coup and refused to consider it. My opinion: Pelosi is unhinged and dangerous

Republicans want to bury Trump, but not make him Jesus.
I'd say that correctly depicts the Republican leadership. Kinda sad for a Candidate who received the most Republican votes in history.

Trumps most enduring legacy could be the historic rise in the national debt.
This could be exactly right, that is until Biden takes over the purse strings.
With relatively low interest rates, the interest on the debt is much smaller than it should be. It may be in the future that the interest payment on the debt exceeds the current spending on everything else.

Trump declassifies FBI investigation into Steele and his dossier. Steele a British citizen interfered with the US election by his own admission to the FBI. He released information negative to Trump to the pres after Hillary got in trouble with the email releases near the end of the election. He did not like Trump and released the information as he felt that if Trump was elected it would be worse for the UK. He violated his contract with the FBI and was fired.
