I'm just going to chime here for a sec. In defense of the "friend" who pulled his weapon. That section of Hwy 6 is most often very busy, and he may not have been able to just drive off. I used to live there so that's how I know this. Hwy 6 used to be only a two lane road, but they have widened it to 4 lanes, but I don't remember if they widened it all the way to 288 or not. Also, there are a lot of crazy rednecks who live there with really high tempers, so I think it's very possible that this "friend" may have actually felt threatened.
Oh, and he should have called the police.

Yeah things should have probably been done different, but theat has been pretty well addressed so no need for my .02 cents. That being said, I live in that area and yeah, the area and my experiences lving in it might play a role in how i would have reacted. Again, wouldn't have acted the way his "friend" did, but pretty darn close to it. And of course it is hard to say for sure w/o being in the exact situation and knowing details. i've been in a few situations where someone has approached my vehicle w/ me in it. Avoidance, deterence, and de-escalation go along way. I live not far off hwy 6, as does a good friend of mine. He, his brother, and LEO mother have all had to answer the door pistol/shotgun in hand before. So i guess, no i don't think acted too lawfully, but i can understand.
