Wow, great result for those folks who have been so determined to inform TC that they've been improperly posting. Way to go, guys!

It struck me as odd that a company so set against guns would hire a commissioned security officer (non-LEO) to watch the place.
Just ask banners who they plan to call... cops? with guns?

Yep. though it is improperly posted... the letters on that sign are only about 1/2" tall, and the sign is almost on the ground. If it were of proper size, I might actually be able to see it when I enter the restuarant.

I thought the solution was simple: Spend your money elsewhere. No matter if they followed the letter of the law, we all know their intent was to keep us CHL holders out. Same thing in my book. You telling me that you can't find another mediocre place to get a taco? ;-)

Kinkos can print 'em out and make real cards for you for cheap.
Nitrogen, this is a great idea. Two issues: first, the proper spelling of "dependant" is "dependent." Second, on the front of the card, the first sentence uses "we" and the second uses "I". It looks somewhat awkward, although I see why you did it.

Running with nitrogen's idea of cards, I made my own edition, which makes these cards bigger and improves some other things: http://www.qnan.org/~pmw/guns/cards-30.06/Cards.pdf

I strolled into Taco Cabana at Highway 6 just south of FM529 tonight. Nothing near the entrance, so I went in. They still had the same "no weapons" irrelevant sign way up on the bulletin board by the menu. My wife and I ordered, and I paid with the last $16.00 that I had on my gift card from Taco Cabana (as in paid for by Taco Cabana) that I got for writing them a nasty-gram complaining about their stores being posted. HA!

IMHO, a 30.06 that is not posted in the proper place without all the proper verbiage (don't forget the spanish version too ese), then it's not a 30.06.

Don't forget. 1" letters. That's a damn big sign. I would bet almost all of them aren't compliant - which means it might as well not exist.

PROHIBITING HANDGUNS IN A BUSINESS OR OTHER ENTITY

"PURSUANT TO SECTION 30.06, PENAL CODE (TRESPASS BY HOLDER OF A LICENSE TO CARRY A CONCEALED HANDGUN) A PERSON LICENSED UNDER SUBCHAPTER H, CHAPTER 411, GOVERNMENT CODE (CONCEALED HANDGUN LAW), MAY NOT ENTER THIS PROPERTY WITH A CONCEALED HANDGUN."

"CONFORME A LA SECCIÓN 30.06 DEL CÔDIGO PENAL (TRASPASAR PORTANDO ARMAS DE FUEGO) PERSONAS CON LICENCIA BAJO DEL SUB-CAPITULO H, CAPITULO 411, CODIGO DE GOBIERNO (LEY DE PORTAR ARMAS), NO DEBEN ENTRAR A ESTA PROPIEDAD PORTANDO UN ARMA DE FUEGO."

Welcome Corona!

When the 1" letters were being discussed in the 1997 Legislative Session, one Representative asked "what are we going to do if people actually start posting this sign?" The response, "we'll change 1" to 2" and add Vietnamese!" :smilelol5: (I probably should have told this story, but the names have been left out to protect the innocent.)

Needs to be "auf Deutsch" also... we have a sizeable German population here via Ft. Bliss.
