My class was with Mr. Felker also, he drives up here to Fort Hood every other month to help out us Active Duty guys and our families. Yes his class is really interesting, and I recommend him to anybody out there.

I took the class out at Hot Wells Sunday with Shane Lamar as instructor. Long day for sure... but well worth it and Shane did a great job in keeping us awake and interested the entire day (although it was so pretty outside!). :coolgleamA:
I took the DPS packet I had received last week by registering online the week before and mailed that puppy off yesterday! :woohoo
Now to kick back, experiment with different holsters and maybe add another pistol to the collection while I wait.

CHL Class (passed): 11/23/08
DPS Packet mailed: 11/24/08
Took mine at Hot Wells with Donovan on Nov. 18th. Mailed out the packet on the 19th. check cleared on the 28th. so I guess they got it. Hope it doesn't take the 5 months everyone is saying. :confused5

Where do you live? A number of recent applicants outside of Harris and Brazoria counties have gotten their permits in 50 days or so.

I got my PIN in the mail today. I was outside building my barn and went down to the mail box, and the Regulatory Licensing Service from DPS had a letter for me. I am so happy, logged on and I am “Processing Application”

So I felt like checking the status once more before going to bed...and this is what I see...

"The data you have submitted indicates you may not be eligible for this service. Please verify the data submitted is correct. If you still cannot proceed, please contact DPS at 1-800-224-5744 or email chl@txdps.state.tx.us for more information."

I don't know what is going on with them...I guess I'll give them a call tomorrow morning and see whats up.

I got the same message when I tried checking my status from my mobile device. It probably didn't like the password or something. I never got it when I checked the status using my computer. I'd give it another shot.

Oh my, you were right. Maybe I was tired or something. I just bought a new laptop for the bedroom and was using that to check along with Firefox and it still showed that dreaded message. I tried it again on the computer in my living room, since that is where I've been checking previously and it shows "Processing Application". Went back on the laptop, cleared out all the cookies and tried it again after a shower & cup of coffee and it shows "Processing Application" as well. Thanks Ricky! I really didn't want to call them. Now back to waiting....
