Great choices..........Nice choice for a carry gun. Think I would have invested some money into a carry holster for it and maybe some ammo rather than the lower. It's tough as nails to find a decent priced completed upper right now with most barrels on backorder. I scrapped my projects, sold the lowers and bought a complete rifle. Wound up being cheaper.......ugh, I hate elections.

Oh, I have a 1911 IWB Holster already that the Kimber fits in fine. So I'm set there.
The lower, well, I've been wanting to get one for a while. I figure the upper is going to be a long time coming. I'm gonna wait for prices to cool down before I attempt to get one.

IANAL, YMMV, ITEOTWAWKI and all that.

Did you mean to place this in the "Zombie Armory" post?

Seriously,
AR15 for about $1000 (used on the web), .22LR conversion kit with extra mag ($250 from Brownells), and then 8000 rounds of .22LR (16 boxes of .22LR in 550 round boxes from Wally World when in stock).
.223 prices will drop and you can buy that ammo later. I own and love a Ruger .22 and it is great.
Remember that the .45 1911 only holds 7 (or 8) rounds, so it is not the totally evil.
