Are you kidding, chances are good that if you were a minority, you would have been tazed after that smart mouth remark. I have no idea how you got away with that one.

No I am not kidding. It wasn't smart mouthed. I was very polite and matter of fact when I said it, and it was the truth. Tazed...for sitting in my car stating facts..get real man....some of you people need to relax!

I saw it. I was a little bit apprehensive going in, but it was pretty good. It pokes fun at a lot of different things.

Just throwing in my 2 cents.
If he (the LEO) was pulling him over to check the DL, why tailgate the OP?
Even the supposed drug 'connection' (Rental car transporting drugs)...again...why tailgate?
The bottom line as I see it is, Mr LEO, pull me over and check the DL if you really must, but DRVIE SAFELY!
Obey the same dang laws that you are supposed to be enforcing and stop trying to scare people into breaking them.

A. Result in the officer no longer tail gating you.
or
B. A nice fat insurance check from the city/county/state.
If I am not mistaken, in Texas a rear-end collision, no matter what the reason, is always the fault of the rear-ender (No laughing here

).

You are correct. If you rear end someone, it is your fault, as you are supposed to leave ample distance and time between the vehicles to safely stop.
If someone is literally _on my bumper_, as this officer obviously was, and I was in my company truck... I might feel inclined to brake check them....
"Sorry officer, I thought I saw something race out in front of me on the road."
I have a dent back there, and could use a new bumper or rear end

I have a buddy who spent years as an insurance claims adjuster for State Farm. . . this is one of the biggest misconceptions he always tries to dispel. There are several instances where the vehicle that rear ends the other is not at fault. For instance, you can't cut somebody off, slam on the brakes, let them rear end you, and think it's going to be their fault. There are a handful of exceptions.
On topic to OP: Glad you called and talked to his supervisor. Hope he actually does something about it.

Improper evasive maneuver resulting in a collision was one of the exceptions he told me about.

Incidents such as this have made me consider taking the following action during any sort of LEO stop (for whatever reason):
Take my i-phone out and put it on the voice-message function and conspicuously put it on the dashboard. LEO's record stops now, so I figure I should too.
