Can't forget about the home defense pieces, the Mossy and the XD.
The real question is....do you attempt to fortify your location, or flee to a safer place.
Temporary Fortification at your residence is probably a good short-term policy.
Surviving the initial rush will be the hardest part. People will panic, attempt to flee, roads will clog, and it will be complete anarchy. Best to bunker down for a bit until it quiets down.
You can get a nice 'Hurricane' shelter that will survive you through the initial onslaught, but eventually, you will have to move to a more fortified location for the long term. Especially if the government decides to try to cut it's losses, and nuke your area. You definitely want to not be there if/when that happens.
There's a HUGE Survival bunker in Conroe, originally built to house a family during nuclear war, it is now an underground datacenter. It has above-ground turret locations, only accessable from inside the bunker. I would probably attempt to make my way there, and set up base there. Pics/info here:

In the event of zombies, all area CHLForum members would be welcome to join me in this bunker. Bring Ammo.

Voted AR-15 and now I have a zombie blaster to back up my choice!
A couple of friends and I started up a corporation for NFA items and just finished our first SBR build:
Let me at those zombies!

I thought Continental had bought it, but it appears that it was actually Curtis Development, and that they're turning it into a datacenter. Hopefully they will have left it sufficiently intact as a bunker to be able to withstand the zombie apocalypse.
Oh, and FWIW, the
location is about halfway from Conroe to Navasota just south of Hwy 105.

+1 longbow of undead slaying
Quiver of infinite arrows.
you guys with the guns are gonna be in trouble. You need at least a +1 weapon to hit undead.
Don't worry flintknapper, I'll let you use it.
If yall haven't "read" it yet and you get into this kinda thing you should check out the audiobook
World War Z, An oral history of the zombie war. There is a paperback version but the book was specifically written to be in audio book format. Very interesting stuff in there. :)

That's what "other" is for, the list was rifle, shotgun, pistol, arrows, assorted other weapons. I can't list every permutation from each class.

I became an ordained minister on the internet. I'm pretty sure I can turn undead now.

Well, once again I am amazed at this forum. We now have another 4 page thread on how to kill zombies (previous thread here
http://www.texasshooting.com/TexasCHL_F ... lit=zombie" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
Oh well, guess this is better than threads on CHL badges or open carry.
Oh, forgot to add that my choice is the Mossberg.

If you are interested, Max Brooks' "World War Z" has a detailed discussion of the best weapon to fight the zombies. The standard weapon became a long utility axe/shovel hybrid if I recall correctly.

I see the Mossberg is gaining ground.
One thing to remember. Zombies win on Numbers, not strength or tactics.
Reloading a Mossberg to full will take the average person 20+ seconds, and then you only have less than 10 rounds until you reload again.
Reloading an AR takes < 5 seconds, and you have 30 rounds until you reload again.
In a simple numbers match, the AR wins, especially when you have 150 zombies walking at you.
Having 300 shells on you does you no good if you can't get them into the gun fast enough to shoot em.

AR-15 w/ Tactical Solutions .22 upper, suppressed, topped with EOTech 512, plus lots and lots of Aguila .22's. The CMP is my friend.

Did we specify the speed of zombies? Are these the slow walking zombies we recognize from the first Romero movies or are they the fast moving zombies of "28 days later" and other current movies?

28 Days later are not actually 'zombies' by definition. They are not undead, rather they are much alive, but infected with a virus.
A Zombie, by definition, is undead. So, Romero movies is what we're discussing.
28 days later zombies do not
require headshots to kill, because they are alive, they will die from vital organ shots, however, don't expect them to slow down until they literally drop dead from them.
Headshots are still best.
