HI Jstevens8715, welcome to the forum! There's a wealth of information here at your fingertips and a bunch of great people to get to know.

Make sure you read the "CHL Checklist" before mailing the application. I held onto my application for several days after my CHL class, and reviewed it very carefully at least one time daily before I mailed it to them.

There's so much stuff that has to be filled out 100% accurately. And it's sooooooo easy to over look.

Good luck to you and look forward to reading your posts. :tiphat:

you got that right !

as i mentioned once before , i had my packet all sealed up and was heading into the post office when i had a nagging feeling that something was wrong .

so i ripped back into it and discovered i had forgotten to indicate "male" or "female" :eek6

don't even bother with the jokes , i already heard them all . :boxing

My husband just took his class, passed certification and everything. We'll be mailing his application soon.
He mentioned that he filled out his form with blue pen before the instructor mentioned it should be in black. The instructor told him to go ahead and leave it that way, but I wanted to know...has anyone else done this and if so did it affect anything? Obviously he'd prefer as little delay as possible. ;)

I just reviewed the instructions I received with my application packet(I applied on line). I could find no where in the instructions saying the forms had to be filled out using black ink. So maybe the requirements are not black ink....I hope.

during my class , we were all given black pens to use .
the instructor told us that DPS would send it back at the first sight of blue ink .
that's what i was basing my earlier
remarks on .

maybe one of our instructor members can confirm or deny . :bigear:

I'm sure he was given a black pen but he's in the habit of carrying and using his own pen...blue ink of course.
We'll fix it either by getting a new form or marking over it in black ink. *sigh*
He got the same lesson twice today - better safe than sorry in the case of ink and self-defense. ;)

If they allowed blue ink then people would be pushing for blue-black and eventually dark green. This is exactly how these things start.

Congrats rlowe! That's not a bad wait time to go to processing. Here's hoping your wait is a short one! :tiphat: :thumbs2:

Well, I got a letter in the mail yesterday about missing information (Work adx). Talked to the lady at DPS and was told to fax it instead of mailing it. So far so good, and BY FAXING THE UPDATED FORM IN YOU SAVE WEEKS IN WAIT TIME just a little info straight from the office. So, I have added a little time to my wait. :totap:
