Thanks for the update. I am glad you are finally getting your pistol.
And it would seem to show where the actual customer service problem is. Might not hold up in court, but it is certainly enough proof for me to know which brand to buy and where not to buy it from. I might even let Jay at STI know about this part of the service and recommend his company look again at their dealer agreement and this store.

I did let him know what transpired and he didn't say much about it. That's fine; I assume they'll take a closer look if this continues to happen. According to him, though, this is the first time anything like this has happened with TargetMaster. Know what I think? This is the first time anyone's caught it.srothstein wrote:Thanks for the update. I am glad you are finally getting your pistol.

Re: GREAT cust. service from STI; I am LIVID with TargetMast
So I went down to TargetMaster today to pick up my Ranger II. They had it, and hadn't sold it to anyone else.
It's currently dissembled after a thorough cleaning. I'm going to let it sit for an hour, then lube it up and reassemble it. After that...photo time!
And may I say...I had a heck of a time breaking that thing down!

baldeagle wrote:This is pure speculation on my part, and I could be completely wrong. Here's what I think happened. Targetmasters knows they're not the only dealer in town. You come in looking for the gun you've chosen after careful research. They want the sale and they know you want the gun, so they lie about the delivery time knowing they can foist the blame on the vendor and you won't know the difference. You blew their plan.
That's what I thought when I read it too.

That doesn't explain the month's delay in placing the order, but using the deposit for interest free working capital during that time would fit.Grog wrote:baldeagle wrote:This is pure speculation on my part, and I could be completely wrong. Re: GREAT cust. service from STI; I am LIVID with TargetMast
I didn't really want to make a whole new thread about my gun until I've at least been to the range to test it out...but I did manage to take a couple of photos before the batteries in my camera died!

Don't worry...those x marks where the serial number should be is just a photoshop effect. ;)
I bought a fanny pack so I can carry immediately once my license arrives. I'm still holster shopping...the gun was a big hit to the wallet so I'm trying to save some more cash for a good holster. ;) Until then, though, the fanny pack offers an all-purpose carry option.

Very nice
What Caliber did you get it in? I can't tell from the photos.
I was looking at getting a STI in 9mm for higher-volume shooting without the cost of .45ACP, maybe some IDPA or something
I got a Para 9mm 2 months ago, and it's been back at Para for 1.5 of those months now

That's a beautiful piece. It would be a cryin' shame if it doesn't work after all of your trials and tribulations.
Just kiddin'.

That's one beautiful gun!
You certainly worked hard enough to get it - shouldn't have been that hard, but some things that eventually turn out well are.
You go, girl!
I'll be looking forward to the range report.

It's in 9mm...I had the same idea you did. ;) Also, we're trying to keep our gun collection in certain calibers: 9mm, .357, 30.06, .22LR, and 12 gauge. If we branch out too much, we'll have problems with being able to buy ammo for each one.dicion wrote:Very nice![]()

What happened with your Para? :(
Re: GREAT cust. service from STI; I am LIVID with TargetMast
After reading your many tribulations with Targetmaster I would be surprised if they knew the difference between a pistol and a fencepost. The clearly can't read, have no recollection skills, no people skills, no humility and no common sense.

That is a beautiful piece! I love the fit and finish of all the STI products I have had my hands on. I'm envious of your choice in style, barrel length, and caliber selection. Just about what I would have picked too. Let us know how ridiculously accurate it is and how the trigger feels when you get to the range. Good luck on the holster hunt as well.

It had 15 FTE's on the first 50 rounds it ever fired, straight out of the boxrandomoutburst wrote:

What happened with your Para? :(

Half of them just sat there in the chamber, the other half came out of the chamber, but just sat there after they did. Didn't even attempt to stovepipe.. just like, stayed there.
Called Para that week, had to fight with them a week to get them to pay for shipping (initially, they wanted ME to pay to ship it

Also, the Finish on it, while looking impressive, was the cheapest, crappiest finish I had ever dealt with. Just Field stripping it like I have any other 1911 I own (Colt, Kimber) resulted in horrible Marks on the finish. I'll admit, I used a metal bushing wrench, but I've used the same on my other 1911's many times and never had this problem. It's almost like it wanted to flake off

Just got an email from them on wednesday.. 6-8 more week wait (It's been a month already)

So.. as you can see, I am not happy with Para _at all_ right now. Their CS guy takes 4+ days to answer any email correspondence at all...
So far, they're not doing too well in my book, and I would firmly recommend anyone else go somewhere else instead at this time, because of my experience.
I know I'm never going to buy another one from them. After I get this one back, I might just sell it, and get an STI instead

IANAL, YMMV, ITEOTWAWKI and all that.
