Voted after school today.

They always have rolls of the "I voted" stickers there at the exit. Seems that if you wanted, you could take one to wear on election day.

Voting with the wife tonight right after work. 1 hour drive then onto voting. Got my NRA guide to whom to carefully consider. Good stuff, glad we still have these freedoms. Might not last too much longer, one never knows!

Voted yesterday afternoon. There were a few people at the polls but several open voting machines. The ballot was all candidates and no propositions that I got to vote "no" on. I was kind of surprised to see the number of Dem judges running unopposed.

Be careful in reading any proposition. "No" does not always mean "no" (as in no to taxes). My county has a proposition to rescind the dog tax, but I can tell that people seeing the proposition for the first time (i.e. did not know it was on the ballot) are often confused by the wording and vote "no" thinking they are voting against a dog tax, when infact they just voted "no" to rescinding it -- ie. they just voted to KEEP the dog tax. As an election worker I am not supposed to explain it to them or influence their vote in anyway when they ask me what it means, but sure is hard to stand there and watch this happen.

Yep, the wife and I went an voted last evening then out for nice dinner. Such a freedom that so many take for granted and do not cast their vote for change. Oh well, we did the early voting.

Last time I voted on election day, I was in line for hours and hours. The polls closed and they still had hundreds of people in line so they crammed us inside winding around in circles and locked the doors. We all eventually got to vote, but I said then that I wouldn't be voting on election day if I could help it again.

I went the other day to early vote. The closest polling place is in the next precinct over and since I went during early voting, I was able to go there. I once made the mistake of going there and waiting in line on election day only to find out the obvious polling place for me isn't the one I'm assigned to and I had to drive some distance to get to mine because you can only vote in your precinct on election day but you can vote in any of your county's precincts in early voting.

There were several other people there when I went the other day and a steady stream of those coming and going, but no wait. I had pages upon pages of propositions to go through. I spent about 20 minutes reading and casting my vote on them. I was surprised by how many people were in and out in under 2 minutes. Their votes would make a much bigger statistical difference on the local level propositions that will have a significant impact on their day-to-day lives and they apparently ignored them all.

I asked for my sticker and was told that they do not have them and haven't for years. My precinct had them last year. I might stop in to a polling place on Tuesday just to pick up a sticker.

We had plenty of stickers. Course I'm working from home today - so nobody is around to see it ...

I voted yesterday at the local public library. In and out in under 5 minutes. Extremely nice poll workers.

And that library holds a special place for me because my late grandparents helped raise money to build it years ago. And in November 2008, in her last vote before she passed on, I had the distinct honor of holding my grandmother's hand and helping her cast her votes on the electronic voting machines - reading off the names and party affiliations to her and helping her mark her choices.

First, some of us come pre-prepared, and don't have to read the propositions to know how to vote. That way we can get in and out and open the machine for others, to reduce the length of the line. (Reading the props isn't necessarily the best way to figure out what they're saying, anyway.)
Second, since there are multiple precincts voting with you, some precincts don't have any props (mine didn't).

I voted this morning. Quick and easy, waited in line for about 3 minutes.

I voted yesterday, the first day my box was open. My wife went today, partly to vote early, and partly to check out the new system she will have to work with next Tuesday (she's the "headmaster" of our polling place). In the two days at out box it appears to be a massive turnout in the works. I just hope it's proportionately large next Tuesday, and a larger than normal turnout this mid-term cycle, particularly on the National level, will most likely lead to better times to come.

I voted today. I wore my "Obamunism-Mutually Assured Poverty" t-shirt. They weren't busy at all. While one of the ladies was checking my card, one of the other ladies was reading my shirt. She asked my what it said, so I stood up to let her read it. The she asked me, "How do you pronounce that?" I quietly said to her, "O-bom-u-nism". She then asked, "What does that mean?" About this time, the lady who had been processing my card started nudging her with her elbow and shushing her. It was time for me to vote, so I went to vote. When I was through, I turned to leave and everyone at the table (three women) and the guy who was checking things on a computer all smiled at me and gave me the "OK" sign with their thumb and forefinger. It really made my day.

Seriously, I've been pretty impressed with Peter King from NY when he spoke on TV. A Brady endorsement of him gives me serious doubts.


We voted the day that the polls opened for early voting. Only under duress would I go back to voting on actual election days. I hate trying to run the "gauntlet" of poll sitters from the various candidates. We go very well prepared (and with cheat sheets if we need them to remember everything). I'm certainly not going to make a last minute decision based on someone yelling at me on my way into the voting booth.

I do the early voting at 7am. I walk in and out in less than 10 minutes.
