Yeah, I know some are so worried others may notice their gun bulge they want something quickly available in their verbal arsenal if some stranger is so gauche as ask: "Hey, what's that ever so noticeable bulge around your waist"?

I spotted a guy carrying through checkout a couple of months ago.

I also had my denim vest blow open in a parking lot some time ago. It was a couple of seconds before I realized everyone could see my stainless Kimber in the shoulder holster. I guess folks thought an old man walking with a cane was no threat.

I suppose one day someone will call 911 on me because I am somewhat careless about it being spotted. Oh well I will deal with it when it happens.

It does. I have a Tour Master that I wear in winter that works great.

Great recommendation. I'm 5-07 so longer cut clothing is normally no good but I like the idea. I may get a shoulder rig but that seems cliche.

I do not really worry about cliché. I use a shoulder rig because-
1. It is the most comfortable for me:
(a) The wide shoulder strap distributes the weight of my full size Kimber.
(b) I can sit down much more comfortably.
2. I can draw it sitting down without going through contortions.
3. I can draw it much faster than a belt holster.
4. It seems much more secure to me because it would be harder for someone to get to my gun and I am less likely to accidently drop it.
5. If I am ever put in a bad situation, I can put my hand in my denim vest on my gun and hopefully the person that is threatening me will realize what is in there without me having to display it, and leave me alone.

I got a cheap nylon rig at Academy but I have been doing leather work for about a year and I believe I am now good enough to make a nice leather shoulder rig.

If the 4-wheelers were still tail-gating you - it must not have been "in plain view".

If the 4-wheelers were NOT tail-gating you it probably was "in plain view" - but then....weren't you either "traveling", or carrying your handgun under the authority of the Texas CHL ?

If not traveling - you were still not intentionally failing to conceal if carrying under Texas CHL authority which creates an exception to the "in plain view" vehicular provision of Section 46.02 (a-1), and you were not in violation of the disorderly conduct provisions of Section 42.01 (a-8) - because you were not displaying your handgun in a public place in a manner calculated to alarm.

Interestingly AR's and AK 's with a pistol grips aren't "considered" to be a handguns - but the Texas definition of a handgun is 46.01 (5) "Handgun" -ANY firearm that is designed, made, or adapted to be fired with ONE hand.

You would probably be pulled over if riding down the highway with an AR or AK slung over your shoulder - but still no crime.

Some people are not required to conceal their handguns. He's one of them.

Yesterday, the traffic in Tyler was unbelievable.

Well, there is no doubt that some of them don't care. The middle finger you got is evidence enough of that.

I had my shirt ride up and over my Kimber recently while hooking up a computer scanner on a friends truck. No one noticed, not even my buddy or the people driving by and stopping at the stop sign directly besides us. Who knows how long it was hanging out in the wind. I was kind enough to wave at one truck as they waved at me, complete with Kimber showing

I'm up to spotting 2 concealed pistols, as they were definately pistols not holsters or bulges.
