Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 5, 2011, the House Committee on Calendars met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Hunter, at 11:50 a.m.



The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Hunter; Coleman; Cook; Geren; King, Tracy O.; Kolkhorst; Lucio III; Ritter; Solomons; and Truitt.



A quorum was present.



(Representative Branch now present.)



(Representative Rodriguez, Eddie now present.)



(Representative Keffer now present.)



Representative Hunter moved to place the following measures:



on the General State Calendar for Thursday, April 7, 2011: HB 11, HB 27, HB 125, HB 175, HB 218, HB 234, HB 243, HB 336, HB 341.



on the General State Calendar for Friday, April 8, 2011: HB 362, HB 364, HB 411, HB 443, HB 630, HB 2193.



on the Resolutions Calendar for Friday, April 8, 2011: HCR 18.



The motion prevailed by the following record vote:



Ayes: Representatives Hunter; Branch; Cook; Geren; Keffer; King, Tracy O.; Kolkhorst; Lucio III; Ritter; Rodriguez, Eddie; Solomons; Truitt (12).



Nays: Representative Coleman (1).



Present, Not Voting: None (0).



Absent: Representatives Bonnen; Zerwas (2).



Representative Hunter moved that the following measures not be placed on the calendar at this time: HB 521, HCR 50.



The motion prevailed without objection.



At 11:54 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.

It looks like somebody is trying to kill HB 750 by blocking it from a full house vote.

In fairness to the committee, they do have over 200 bills they are considering.

With that being said, should we be calling Rep. Hunter's office and urge him to put 750 on the calendar?

You have no idea! it seems like all of the state representatives have a competition to see who can get the most attractive assistants.

Okay.

Got an alert that the calendars committee had a meeting to schedule a calendar at 9:45 this morning, before session, and will have another one upon lunch recess. Set my alerts to get notified when the minutes are posted.

Perhaps when SB 5 gets through the Senate, and is considered in the House ... HB 750 can be attached as an Amendment to SB 5 :mrgreen:

They meet today theoretically (except house is still in session)
