Yeah, that happened one time. I've been having trouble lately when I go to holster my LCP, from keeping the slide from racking back.

I like to think of carrying two as increasing your "options" on several levels. Skiprr had an excellent list that verbalized many good reasons.

Like a few others have said, I carry one gun. I do carry a loaded magazine in my pocket. I have never understood the thinking behind multiple weapons. Truth is, if the Red Chinese are storming me from over the hill, I need a whole lot more than two handguns. Law enforcement is a whole different issue. They have to run in the direction of trouble while I can run away from it. I don't believe for one minute that I will ever be living out a TV movie fantasy of tossing my spare gun to my "partner" as I roll across the ground with a gun in each hand firing at a gang of Crips and Bloods.

Can anyone site an example of a civilian using multiple weapons in the coarse of self defense? I would love to read about how it all went down. Can anyone site an example of a civilian getting killed or wounded due to lack of firepower or even a weapon failure?

I rarely ever carry a second gun, and when I do, it's because it's easier to pocket the second gun than it is to case it and carry it that way. I have confidence in all of my carry guns, and I carry one or two spare magazines/speedloaders, depending on which gun I am carrying that day.

If I'm either expecting or encounter more trouble than that will cover, then it's time to get the AR out of the car.

I don't have an opinion one way or the other regarding someone else's choice to carry two, I just don't feel the need to do so myself.

This statement seems silly and I can't say that I follow this logic. One is certainly enough to get the job done as is proof every morning in the Houston paper when you read about the shootings around the city.

One is infinitely better than none....

Can you site any examples of a civilian being killed or wounded due to lack of firepower or a weapon failure. That book title is Thank God I had A Gun... are there any links to any news stories of multiple guns helping a civilian out on the street?

That is what the WHOLE book is. People who were in volved is self defense shootings.

Utilizing multiple guns????? While carrying concealed...OUT ON THE STREET??? I ask a very specific question. I would like to see some examples of a self defense situation, out on the street... by a civilian... where MULTIPLE weapons came into play. I would even like to see an example or two of situations where a CHLer was taken down because his primary weapon failed.

BY THE WAY... THIS ISN'T A CHALLENGE! I would truly like to read the account of a Civilian who has found the need for multiple weapons while carrying concealed. I have tried and all the self defense shootings out on the street I can find involve one weapon and happen real fast.

I bet if ever has happened, it is a very rare bird indeed. One other thing... if a person is closing on you quick, you have time to draw ONE weapon... if your lucky. If a person is beating me senseless, I am not sure how I am going to get my hand in my pocket and pull out a weapon. If the situation allows for pocket retrieval... then waist retrieval is going to be the quickest and safest way of drawing. If I am shot in the arm and drop my gun... the bad guy is not going to stop and wait for me to draw from my pocket. Sticking my hand in my pocket is going to leave me defenseless with my other arm out of commission. It seems like grabbing the gun off the ground is going to be easier than reaching in my pocket. Just some thoughts I had.

No kidding ... thanks for the link... Interesting story. Good night nurse... he said he has had to shoot two other BG's in the past twenty years??? Wow!!! That guy is a battle hardened vet... LOL. It doesn't say where he had the guns stashed. It reads like he had the guns stashed strategically around the cab? Thinking about it... if I were doing a high risk job like his, I would probably carry multiple weapons in my vehicle also. Did he have a concealed carry permit or was he carrying under a similar law as the Texas law allowing carry in a vehicle?

Have you tried placing your thumb on the rear of the slide to keep it from moving back when you go to holster your LCP?

I'm neither law enforcement nor a cab driver nor a security guard nor batman. I don't see any need to carry more than one gun.
Some of the arguments are if one is good 2 is better. My question is how many is too many ? When does that logic stop ? When is enough enough. 3 guns ? Why stop there ? 4 ? 6?

At some point no matter your view on this you reach a point of a practical limit. Unless I'm going to the range my limit is one.

The other argument is to use a handgun to fight back to your long gun. A very popular law enforcement quote. They have long guns in their cars. How many here do ?
Since CHL is only for outside the home, its really not for fighting your way back to the house...

In the end you can carry three guns if you want - and its ok "because you can" There are lots of things I do "Just because I can"
This isn't one of them.
